Nothing below 7600 Go or Gt with its on dedicated memory won't work or will work bad.

I have a Dell 6000 with ati300,128mb decatedvideo and Dell 1705 with nvidia 7900gs with 256mb and both play vidz just fine...
The 6150 is a new on board chipset with shared video mem..If you look around there are more and more newer laptops with dedicated videocards out there. Hp for instance uses the Nvidia 7600 in there nv 9000 17in and there nv 6000 15.4 in not sure on exact model numbers.

Rule of thumb,
1 gig ram, and a dedicated video card, regardless of how much video memory it has. 128 works just as good as 512 so dont base your choice on that, unless you intend outputting HD for some reason...

What are you guys using for video djing with a laptop for specs? And by djing i mean scratch/doubles stable, not just song playing.

I'm running a 1.8 dell laptop, with 1.5 ram and a 64mb video card. I have no idea if it is dedicated or not. Running music videos with a simple fade for 6 hours, no problems.

Rob Base are you able to play 2 videos back to back without the bleeding in of the 2nd video as soon as you start it?
drop me an email if you don't mind and maybe you can help me with my video problem because I have the same card as you in the dell 1705 because I have a 1705 as well. hit me up at djjayskee@aol.com if you don't mind.

Well it depends, some Video cards with 128Mb will work some with 256Mb will not, I think the issue here are Video drivers, system optimization and codecs type of use.

I first tried VDJ on a system with 64mb shard graphics, and then found i got better performance when i changed to amount of shared graphics to just 32mb. It was an 5yr old Compaq Evo notebook.
I was n't even using the lowedt performance settings, about one from bottom it think.
(I'm not recommending this to the guy who asked lol, just saying its worth doing some research and asking around, coz these laptops are strange machines!)

I have a laptop
DELL XPS M1210: Intel Core Duo Processor T7200 (2.0 GHz/667MHz FSB/4MB Cache), XP pro
Memory: 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Graphics Card: 256MB NVidia GeForce Go 7400 TurboCache
Hard Drive: 80GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Since day 1 have been unable to play video - Failed to get help from Numark (I have CUE) or VDJ . My ticket number 1178136928 submitted on 2nd May to VDJ has not been read yet and tried posting on the forum and did all suggested things but it does not work. Can somebody help me out please. This is crazy way of spending more than $ 600 (software+controller+soundcard) and all I get is an audio CD player. My laptop meets or exceeds listed hardware requirements on the Numark website and if there are any issues it should be posted on the website so buyer is aware.
Thanks
