Topic: Samplers: Adding individual EQ cut functions

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I use VDJ with my MKII and I create shortcuts on my keyboard.

It would be great if I can adjust or kill the bass, mids, and treble individually on each sample. Or have the capability to record the sample from the main deck with the adjusted EQ settings.

In order to get the desired effect with a kill bass, mids, or treble, I would have to record it, for example with no bass, and then sample it to have it without the bass.

In addition, it would be very nice to listen to the sample in the headset without playing it live.

Anyone any suggestions. Thanks.

The easiest way would be to use a multichannel (6 or more) soundcard, and an external mixer with a third input for the sampler. I use the sampler quite a lot, that's how I do it... :-)

DJSherz,

To make sure we are on the same page, I'm referring to the VDJ's samplers. Is this one of the alternatives. Thanks.

Yes indeedy, if you have a suitable mixer and soundcard, you can route the sound from VDJ's sampler into it's own channel on the mixer, completely independently of the deck outputs.

Sherz,

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

this requires a sound card with 3 stereo output and a "3 line mixer"

it's going to cost you.

or use more than 1 soundcard, cheep as chips

besides, a normal 5.1 soundcard has 6 outputs...........

Yes, you have Sound Blaster Live 5.1 USB which costs around 60 euros and has all you need. You will need 3 channels mixer for this.

Everyone,

Thanks for the advise. I will look into those possibilities.
