Topic: Dumping Physical Memory

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

My PC occasionally lockup, screen turns blue and a readout displays, Dumping Physical Memory.

What is this, what do I need to do to stop this from happening?

Hardware or driver error.

the blue screen should tell you what device or driver that caused the conflict.

Look closely next time, and post the find here

(btw, this has nothing to do with VDJ, but is a Windows error)

Is there some type of systems check I can do?

Thanks

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System
2. Go to Advanced
3. Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings
4. Under System Failure uncheck "Automatically restart"

Change write debugging information to (none). Next time this screen comes up, make a note of what's caused the problem. Could be a stop error code which you'll have to google, or maybe a device driver etc.

You beat me by minute there Andrew ;)
Thats right, follow this steps and make a note on a blue screen. It could be everything, but check first Video, Sound and Direct X driver.
Sometimes there is no way to fix this but to reinstall Windows :(

I copy and pasted it from a website, it was easier than typing out manually how to do it step by step. If I had written it I would have put Windows Key + Pause + Print Screen. Besides, on a one mouse click XP style system it's the same mouse clicks doing it through Control Panel :p
