i love and use and reccomend v mix 5.2 thank you format and mykel.....

i just got my lappy back from the shop ....went thru the whole getting yer platform ready for primetime fandango ........

i went to install vmix 5.2 and i'm getting the invalid skin error and rebooting doesn't fix it ????

EVERYTHING is the latest 'n greatest ..... direct x all the windows updates , java , vdj is 4.3 ....

only running 29 processes ..... it's a good clean machine ..... everything is running well except it won't install my favorite skin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm so depressed i've been listening to neil young's harvest album ......

PLEASE help me before i do something no one will regret .......lol

edit forgot to say updated the bios also ...........

i tried the single instance had no luck with that either

well you know it's the weekend ..... no responses

btw if you play neil young's harvest album in reverse really a lot after a while you start to notice the martians secret messages concerning the invasion ........ turns out there afraid of silly string so we can kill 'em with that
 
delete the skin exe and re-download.

sounds like you got a corrupt download.

I like that skin as well.

have you looked at DJ Cell's multi-instance skin?

that didn't work ..... i turned off my antivirus also during the dl and install......

i also tried launching from the default icon ( not cstoll's xml tool) and that didn't work
 
Hi chuck.. have u try increasing ur monitor resolution.. maybe u put it smaller than the size that u download.. match or set the resolution higher than the skin n try..:)

sounds like it might be time for a PM to Format about your skin exe issue.

 
When you say it won't install the skin, does it not show up under VirtualDJ at all? If not, you're probably running Vista (doesn't sound like it though with so few processes)? Run the skin installer as administrator if you are on Vista.
 
firefox downloads to the desktop i click it it installs it appears in C: program files .....it looks like it has not been unzipped but so do the other skins that are working ......

the lappy resolution on main screen one is set on 1280 by 800 ..... the other 1280 skins work

i get the invalid skin file error
 
That strange, hmm maybe u have already done this> delete fully the exe file then reboot ur pc, then redownload again n start the exe..< give it one more try.

But if it failed again, yah i go with marcel suggestion, maybe u could try pm format on ur issue:)
 
which line is it invalid on?

it usualy says Invalid on line X

i emailed matt and i'm using his mix lab which is 1280 and similar.... my second fave ....

Marcel i will def check out cel's skin .....seein' as how i use so many of his visual efx ........

i also like the platinum by emprego
 
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh shtill no luck ...... anyone have any ideas ??
 
Are you running VISTA or XP?

If you are running VISTA, you need to run vdj in administrator mode.

This issue will be fixed soon.
 
thanks it's xp media center edition ....... i haven't been getting any response to my tickets .....
so still hoping for an answer from the forum or from matt
