I have a computer about 6 years old PC ... 1.3g / 256 / cd / 40g HDD
I want to empty all contents of the HDD but I do not have the XP OS... I can recover back to when I got my computer. If so, will my personal files remain? I want a factory computer again.
I want it to music and videos and back-up drive... and use it for backup vdj

It is best to do a fresh install on an empty drive. Transfer all your personal files and anything else you may need to an external drive, and then go for it.

If it is something like a Dell, they have a pre packaged disc. You need to use that disc in order to
set it back to factory settings.
