Topic: Technical Difficulties with My New System!!!!!!!!!!

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I have recently invested (a lot of money!) in getting a new computer system to run CUE for my Video Sets......

The system was designed after liasing with Numark (minimum requirements etc, etc..) I didn't build the system by the way.....a company made it for me. It's a 4u 19" rack mount system and looks the biz.....

Anyway, I seem to be having a few problems...

1, When you drag an audio or video file into CUE that has not been added to the CUE library it minimises and maximises the screen....if you have video set to window it seems to do weird things....when you play files from the library it is fine???

2, When you try adjusting the pitch of audio/video files once they have been loaded and are playing....it goes glitchy....it's not smooth? That's even if they have been added to the library....

I know you will want to know what system I have, so here is the full spec....

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor

2GB OCZ DDR2 1066MHz RAM

Two 500GB Western Digital SATA-ll Disks on a RAID-1 Array

Samsung 16x SATA DVD-RW Drive

ESI Maya 44PCI

ATI X1800GTO 256mb with VIVO

It's running on Windows XP.....not Vista.

Please help....I know it must be something to do with the settings but....I wouldn't know where to start.

Thanks in advance

what version of cue are you using?

Are you dragging files from another window and dropping it into cue??

if yes, I will use the cue browser insted. Add Folders as favorites and
make use of the Search DB, it will save you lots of time.

Are there any programs running in the background? Try this.... Start...Run... Then type msconfig in the box ... Go to the startup tab and uncheck any program that you don't want to startup when turning on your computer. Also, next to the startup tab will be services, click that then check off hide all microsoft services then check to see if there are any services you can stop from running. After you go through all of these steps you will be asked to restart. Restart your computer then try running the video. Maybe there are some resource hungry program running. You might already know about this, but it's worth a try.

One other thing I have noticed in your configuration is your video card. Could also be causing problems. It's a little slow compared to today's standards. I understand it has vivo, but there are stand alone video cards you can get.

What are you talkin about???

There is nothing wrong with that video card it is 256mb dedicated and also gddr3.

I am still having the same problem....I have downloaded the latest update....version 5.0 rev 4.......

I have tried turning some of the things off (on start up) but nothing seems to have happend....?

Any suggestions?

You mention pitch as well..

Do you control the software by timecode by any chance?

And , your system has ROCKING specs, so should run videos like a baby.. But, could there be an IRQ conflict between your graphic card and some other intense hardware?

hi all....thanks for all your help and advice....that particular problem has been solved.....

I'm not using time coded vinyl........it was.....wait for it....

....the setting on the sound card.....i was trying a few things to get a headphone output and voila...seems to have done the trick....pitch and crossfader are now smooooth.....no glitchyness at all.........

I still do have a problem with the main screen minimising and freezing at times.....It seems to happen a lot when the output is set to window....I'm not sure what an IQR conflict is and what to do to solve it?

the video out put should go to your monitor or projector , in the drop down does it list your video card ?
