Topic: Time Code Issues in r4

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

OK, there seems to be issue after playing after 4 hours non stop on the latest version of vdj. I did not have this issue few weeks back using 5r2. It seems after 3.5 hours or maybe longer that something happens with the tc engine. What happens is when I start to cue something up on the other deck and listen in my headphones it stutters the other deck. this is just using audio no video. This was not good at my wedding gig tonight. Any thoughts? My hardware is fine, 2 dennon 3500s and ecler nuo4. Like I said it work great until after 3.5 hours into the gig, and I started to notice the problems. I have gig next weekend, and need to do some testing this week. I may have to go back to 5r2.
Also I did not make any changes from 5r2 to 5r4 all settings are the same.

maybe this laptop had different ventalation compared to the last gig. It might be something as simple as that. Is it running hot?

never happened to me, i use tccd every day.

not using laptop. I have a high end shuttle box. With Dual Core 2 (2.4ghz) and also running 2gb ram. 3 hard drives (os on its own) and for sound I am using the MOTU Ultralite. So like I said this is a nice high end box mainly for doing video, but the tccd issue happened when doing audio.Like I indicated before I never experienced these issues before until last night with r4...few weeks ago (using 5r2) never had any issues, than again that gig was for 4 hours.

I agree with Marco. Could it be a heat issue? Thats where some stuttering can come from. I used rev 4 last weekend and the past 3 days for 4+ hours each and had no stuttering. All video to, which is a little more stressful.

I cant see it being a heat issue because computer has plenty of cooling. Unless the tccd itself got warm after awhile. I will be playing with it this week before next weekends gigs.

Well that depends....what kind of surface was the PC sitting on? How warm was it in the room? Was there enough FRESH air, not just recirculated warm air? Are the heat sinks on the PC clean? If not they can over heat very quickly. I would not rule heat out so fast. I was taught this method for trouble shooting problems many years ago and keep it in my head like a mantra. Keep it simple, stupid. Keep it simple, stupid. Keep it simple, stupid.

I guess I forgot to mention that I own my own computer business and do consulting. The room was cool, the computer is a shuttle with its own heat sink and fan which is way better than the one you get from Intel when you purchase a stock system. I am going to re-set everything back up and go through same senario. Turn of TimeCode and than Turn it on via clicking the Timecode buttons on the decks on defualt skin. I will see if I can get it to re-occur. In regards to the pc, pc was fine. Its one of two things, VDJ (some new type of error) or something went wrong with the MOTO UltraLITE. I am going to rule out problem with Denon 3500's just because the problem happened on both decks when trying to cue up song on other deck. So its either going to be Virtual DJ or the Motu Ultralite.
Like I mentioned earlier 5.r2 I didnt expierence this problem. Looks like I will be testing it out before this Fridays gig. See if I can replicate problem.
