I have to say, tonights gig at the club house was the shortest I've ever done, excluding cueing up songs during the "I Love Lucinda" skit (I Love Lucy parody) it was only about an hour & a half of music & dancing. Nonetheless it went off without a hitch, no mistakes on my part or on the part of my system and VDJ. Had a couple surprises, being an older crowd I was shocked when I got a request for "Crank That Soulja Boy", but being the musicaly tolerant person I am (I'm actualy warming up to that one) went ahead & played the Travis Barker remix & man, that song packed the floor!! The only lights I took were my Chauvet color banks due to limited set up time & possible liabilities with the strobes & fog machines, but they went over really well. Best part is, I get to completly take over as head DJ for all future dances, all volunteer but it's an honor nonetheless. Heh, I know I've said it before but man, I was born for this..lol. Ok, now I really need some sleep, I've still got a busy rest of the week & next week with the conferance & moving into my new apartment. Thank you again VDJ teamers & testers for making my work so much more efficiant!!!;^]

Another happy post. What is this world coming to? Glad to hear that your gig went so well. You seem to have a great attitude, and that is a welcome addition to this forum.

$#%#^AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Just kidding! ;)
Yeah, I did another 6 hours straight of mixing videos, visuals and audio using VirtualDJ 5 with Numark Virtual Vinyl TCV's and sound card last night. No problems whatsoever. =)
The only problems I've had since I first started doing this weekly 8pm-2am Friday night gig off and on since August (weekly since 2 weeks ago except for last Friday) was my Virtual Vinyl box wasn't recognized once at system start up, which was resolved with a reboot and caused a 5 minute delay in my start time (vista's sooo quick at booting up... /sarcasm), and I made the mistake twice of recursing my iTunes database for the first time during a mix on 2 separate occasions which ended up taking about 20 seconds longer than the song I was playing lasted, so I had some dead air. That issue was resolved simply by me making sure to recurse my iTunes datatbase at the very beginning of the night.
Other than that, it's been nothing but smooth sailing at this and all other gigs. ;)
