I dont use Timecode - just play video vob from VDJ with automix. I use a high end gaming pc from ibuypower, quad core, 2gb, 750mb vid card, sata hdd vista ultimate. I also have an hp laptop dual core, vista, 256mb vid, 2gb, sata hdd.
both machines have high end soundcard as part of original machine and I use the 3.5mm jack to get sound out. The HP has a realtek sound option.
question 1: will I get a discernable improvement in sound by adding a after market high end sound card ?
question 2: both machines have an optional 'digital out' sound option. Again, is it worht using this.
i'm happy with my sound but maybe I can do better ?
I've had crashing of video in the past, now its stable with vista and v5 vdj. I dont want to tempt fate by adding sound cards since its working ok, but if I get better sound then I'm willing to try it.
