Wireless, here's a funny thing:

Using the hercules console together with vdj-> the rubber buttons (cue/play) do not responsd very well.

here comes the funny part:

Using the hercules console together with BPM studio 4.9 -> the rubber buttons (cue/play) respond much more better.

try it yourself! i think replacing the rubber buttons by click-buttons will not make the hercules-console any better. the part of the software (hercules driver? or vdj?) that reads the current state of the rubber buttons is a bit buggy.

i still prefer VDJ above BPM-studio because i don't have my hercules anymore.

Sorry meant to say I got a chipped DMC-1 from my PCDJ days, which ive used with virtual DJ , more or less as not all functions work with virtual Dj , but main ones do.

I think the Behringer controller/mixer looks great and intend to buy one when it becomes available in NZ,
hope Virtual Dj adds support for this Behringer unit, i'm aware that Behringer claims this unit already works with all PC based dj programs, with mac support under devlopment.

Nitebeat - send me your email address (if you want to). I am good friends with a Berhinger big wig in the USA. I'll be talking to him next week to find out more info. I'll let you know when it's available here in New Zealand. We may be able to buy direct.... ;-)

Email me if you like - idj4u@mobiledj.co.nz

I'm still not convinced these will be better than using XP10s or DAC2 with a good external mixer....

I have more info on the behringer unit

1. rumor their included sw is written in java so it is cross platform mac and PC
2. you can scratch mp3's wave, CD, and vinyl (meaning the vinyl is fed in and you can scratch with the wheel)
3. It is midi compatible so it will control vdj, traktor, Reflex
4. list price in us will be $199

I was trying to assign DMC-1 to VDJ, but i remember not really EVERYTHING was really assignable correcty.

I think i was having a hard time assigning the wheels to work correctly.

So, they need to FIX their midi implementation or custom-wise to support the new controller by Behringer (i vote for midi if it REALLY works).

that is the program. I noticed that traktor doesn't support every function as well. That's why I hope atomix will add naitive support for this controller when it is released.

I think this is a bargin and a vast improvement over the XP10. For less than 200 dollars it will sell well.I hope the internal sound is better than the XP10 .The Buzz sound was not fixable .

digitalmdj : The Buzz sound was not fixable .

come on digitalmdj, you have to give the people from EKS a break, only because you are having problems with the xp10's doesn't mean everybody is having problems

ivar, i'll have to agree with you and suggest that the buzz was something in his setup. my XP10 are silent, no buzz and sound excellent.

Hey hey,

This is my first post, but it seems that you guys have a great discussion here. I started messing around with stuff about two years ago... but since then I've graduated college and my roomie (obviously) took all of his stuff with him. Since then, I'd been getting the itch, but had no vinyl... but like many, I had over 100GB of music on my harddrive. Solution = mp3jing.

So... I bought a hercules DJC, and have enjoyed it thoroughly for about a month. Since then, I've noticed the new Behringer BCD2000 coming out, and am wondering - is this going to be a better solution for me? What do you all think? Also, maybe it's just my laptop (PIII, 1.8, 512MB), but I've had a number of sticky VDJ moments. It'll freeze or skip semi-often. Am I missing a driver or something?

Thanks to all, and I'm glad to be joining a community such as this!

That skipping and freezing would seem normal for your hardware. I would recomend some faster hardware. I used to have freezes and paralyzed display on my slower laptop. Those problems disappeared when I used better hardware. Now all I have problems is with the crashing :-)

The Behringer looks nice. Would like to see one in action, or maybe I'll just wait for WirelessDJ to post a review.

I, personally am hooked on XP10. I'll probably stick with them for a while, maybe one day upgrade to TCCD though.

We DONT know if atomix will fully support this controller. It will work with MIDI but midi is not as good as naitive support.

For two hundred dollars it's a bargan . It's nothing like $800.00 for two XP10s.Which are basicly midi controllers also.So you can't complain and if it's as good as it looks then your ahead .

Hope there's a pane missing from the screenshot!
Guess "2 beats" just suggests the two green bars in the waveform display, tell me if YOU can see which song is playing where?

And only ONE stereo out, when they say it's a "4-channel USB audio-interface"?? Do they really mean 2channel in + 2channel out!? one input is also "locked" as a "phono", and the other switchable "line"/"phono" - not a big deal, as yo can only use one at a time...

I NEED 2x stereo(player A + player B) outputs to run a external mixer - will not run monosplit, even if it should be supported.
Can always run a external (PC) soundcard - if it's properly supported in software though..

Like the fact that it's Usb2, hope for native vdj support, will probably have good sw support later, buttons CAN still be rubber on this puppy - but guess (hope) for tactile hard buttons (since some have integrated led windows).

Visibility of the rotary encoders positions look really bad for dim environments.
R. Encoders seem to grab for a Digi 02 look, but skipping the lighted value indicators.. Pictures may be of a "alpha/beta-mockup" though, but it looks like the final design. .
Atleast there is a white "pin" indication in sw.
Hope they are more "stuck" in position than Herc. DJC, which I had to make a note to "Remeber Reset sw eq!", as these values differs at each program start (using 1/2+5/6 as main outputs) ;(

Conclusion - will get one to test.
