From a young age I always had an interest in Technology and how things worked, so much to the point that I used to break things open to find out how they worked. Of course this didn't please my parents and I remember when they bought me an illustrated book on how things work, I'm guessing so I stopped breaking things open.
I later developed an interest in IT and one day after blowing up my dads PC a family friend offered to repair it but got me to do the work and just instructed me on what to do. I later developed an interest in IT and one day after blowing up my dads PC a family friend offered to repair it but got me to do the work and just instructed me on what to do. Ever since that point I have taught myself more IT skills and have worked in several IT related jobs from Technician work to Web Design & Multimedia
At the same time as having my interest in technology I always had an ear for music, my mother enrolled me in Piano lessons for a short time but for one reason or another I stopped. the same is to be said about my Guitar Lessons several years later.
I can remember in the mid 90's hearing some kind of Techno on the Radio, it was the first time I had heard that type of music and while I don't remember what track it was I do remember the euphoric feeling it brought to me. I didn't get right into techno at this point however and at first started listening to commercial radio songs of whatever was popular with other kids my age. Over time I started getting into techno more listening to my favorite DJ at the time Nick Skitz with his popular Skitzmix compilations of Electronic Dance music.
It wasn't long until I expanded my music tastes beyond standard commercial music to House, Trance and some of the more underground styles such as Hardstyle, Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, Gabber, DnB, etc.
I was hooked and begun to experiment with music on my computer, splicing sounds from movies and music together using basic sound editing software.
I got my hands on some Digital DJ computer software and started teaching myself the basics of DJing such as beatmatching, loops, sampling, equalizing, sound effects and of course getting a natural feel for the music and rhythm.
With the help of someone I knew who owned a local Party Hire business I got some experience in doing a few house party DJ gigs with some basic DJ gear and got better at mixing.
I now own a Denon DN-MC6000 and Virtual DJ Pro, and I hope to continue learning and improving my DJing.
