Topic: Buying A SoundCard

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Allright Guys.

Right at the moment Ive been using my mates VDJ just playing around on his laptop without the use of an external controller or soundcard or nothing, simply using a mouse and keyboard. I really enjoyed and ive done so pretty good mix's with it.

Bascially Im going to buy VDJ Pro just before Xmas, but I want to use buy an external controller. Im only going to buy a Numark Totalcontrol for bedroom use and practise on that, then If i can get some warm up sets to my mates Friday/Saturday night sets, ill look to buy a better controller.

But he says no matter what controller you buy, you need a decent sound card.

Now I havent got a F**cking clue about soundcards, there are so many out there I just dont have a clue whats going on or good to buy etc etc.

Ive tried watchinf youtube vids etc but none of it seems to make sense when I come to looking to buy one on the net.

So I was just wondering if anyone on here could give me some advice on soundcards i.e. which ones to buy? What kind of card am I looking for?

Its needed to fit a big PA system cos the clubs he Djs at are quite big, looking at 1200-1700 people.

Any advice would be awesome.

Cheers.

Gareth

You should consider Hercules RMX console, it has built in sound card and all you need to start mixing. The bonus is you will have a special discount for VDJ Pro when you have RMX:

So I think it is the best choice for you.
Regards

Cheers. But how good is the quality of the sound card?

Im looking for spend anything between £100-£200 on the soundcard?

well the hercules mk2 soundcard is decent and i would suggest that the hercules rmx would be better

it looks alot better than total control aswell

Cheers mate, I do like the look of the RMX.

Whats the difference between the RMX and the Steel?

The RMX has a built in soundcard, the Steel has not.

Cheers mate.

Thanks for the info, but back to Sound Cards..

In the price range of £100-£200, what is the best sound card, whether it would be a USB or a build in one?

ya wont get a rmx for that mate it costs £260
but ya can get the hercules mk2 for about 100-£120 thats a deent soundcard

If you're going to buy better equipment in the long run, you may as well get it now. Why spend weeks or months practicing on one unit, just to replace it with another. Like the previous posts say, the rmx is all inclusive. Acts as a soundcard and controller all in one. No need to shop later if you get one now.

well said

You can consider Vestax VCI-100 for the money, but you will not have sound card built in and no discount on going Pro. But it is a better quality than RMX.

Ive got an Mk1 and ive read in alot of the forums that the Mk2 / RMX is the same soundcard as the Mk1 also.

My Main concern is the use of the Treble, Medium & Bass knobs whenever i alter them I lose alot on the sound quality.

Ive read on a few forums here that the software equaliser shouldnt be used at all so now im just wondering if you shouldnt use your console as an equaliser, but your using it as a soundcard, then what DO you use to alter the MID/BASS?

I always use EQ on the hardware mixer, but in version 5 EQ is a lot improved so you can use it on your controller also. I use it on Numark Total Control and it sounds just fine ;)
