NOW - last night at the show, the SW crashed a few times...usually when I was playing .vob files. AND some of the .vob files played audio but NOT VIDEO. All these files played on the PC version of VDJ with the codec package recommended on the forums, is there a codec pack for the mac I need to load? Shit like this is NOT supposed to happen on a mac, right? This is why we support macs!!!
AND THEN when I went to switch headphones with another jock, THE RMX CRAPPED ON ME!!!!!!!!
First the sound dropped to about 1/2 of what it was, then shut down. I restarted, and the blue lights were blinking like crazy, I restarted VDJ, and the RMX would not respond. I pulled it and replaced it with my backup mixer and had to run Itues for the last hour.
If the RMX would work like advertised, with VDJ I would be in heaven, but at this point I am ready to buy a TTM57 and run it with Serato.
Any ideas? I have my roadie testing this today, but has this happened to anyone else?

Hello DJ Terry Moran,
The problem you had with your DJ Console Rmx looks like a drop of power on the USB bus
If you add a USB powered hub between
- the USB port of your Mac,
- and the DJ Console Rmx,
you will have not variations of electric power.
The left USB port on Macbook Pro has the reputation to lack bus power.

Where you connected on the right USB port or on the left?
On PowerBook and iMac, one must sometimes reset the PMU (Power Management Unit) when the USB bus power seems strange.

What kind of USB HUB DO YOU RECOMMEND

Hello frankcc26,
Any standard USB 2 high speed hub with a power adapter should work.

Thanks guys, I was thinking that same solution, but it is good to hear from others.
What about the VDJ NOT playing some of the .vob files. Are there any codec issues I should be aware of?

Hello DJ Terry Moran,
VirtualDJ Pro uses the video software codecs already installed in the Mac, VirtualDJ doesn't install a new DVD playback codec.
To read a Vob file, VirtualDJ Pro should use the codec of the DVD Player program installed in your Mac, so
- if a VOB file is readable in DVD Player in this Mac, it is likely that the VOB file is readable in VirtualDJ Pro installed on the same Mac
- if a VOB file is unreadable by DVD Player in this Mac (whatever the reason, whether it is due to the zone protection of the DVD or for another reason), it is likely VirtualDJ Pro won't be able to play the VOB file in the same Mac.
If you remember which VOB file failed with VirtualDJ Pro, can you try in the software DVD Player (in the Applications directory on the Mac hard drive) to see what happens when you try to play this file?
