Here is the question
do you honestly think that Virtual DJ needs their own Hardware....???
Their own box.... Their own solid controller? and that this will solve many issues among users
Do you think they should concentrate and invest heavily in this regard/partnership with a decent hardware company?
Or do you believe that they are going in the right direction of making it compatible with just about any controller/box/midi
share your views and say why??
Personally I am glad that I am able to have the option for them to use other controllers, soundcards etc..
but at the same i am frustrated that many of these controllers are lacking a few things...
I am pissed about Serato... jumping into midi controllers after they avoided it for so long and leading the pack right a way.... with this Itch/Vestax controller.. It just itches the hell out of me... Why weren't we the ones that had this??

To be honest, I don't see any need for Atomix to diversify into a hardware company as well.
The existing controllers are more than capable of controlling the software. I can't think of anything I can't control using my Ecler Evo 5 and Denon DN-HC4500 devices.

I think so too.
They shout go on to make the same quality or better to the prog.
Therea are so many controllers etc. how work with vdj. So the only problem is to find the right yourself!
I have found it!

Don't know really, but I'm quite happy using my RMX (except the current 6+6 config. methods which I think is just stupid & why I'm still on 5.1), for my needs it's great. I too, love the fact that VDJ adds support for whatever cards/ controlers possible, gives us users alot of flexibility and lots of options;^]

They did exactly what you are asking for digitalwiz....
When Numark wanted to License VDJ as Cue. Numark built a line of decent controllers, and they work very well with VDJ out of the box.
VDJ's Achilles heal has always been timecoded Vinyl reliability. Controllers work almost perfectly, Timecode CD's rarely have issues, but Vinyl has been a problem.
Perhaps a timecoded solution to VDJ and lock it down might be in order. Vinyls, soundcard, and needles. sold in parts of package. There are only about 4 or five pro-grade turntables out there with most guys using Technics.
Who knows - maybe VDJ can introduce the first ASIO,-enabled turntable. Complete with vinyl, needles, soundcard all built in - just plug in a usb cable. That would be a solution and a half for users.
All this - from a rackmounted DJ :P

Atomix isn't a hardware company that is why we partner with other hardware manufactures to do exactly that. We wouldn't want to ruin that use what you got and go with a use what we give you approach this is not what Atomix is all about.

great.. i am satisfied with the answers
Just wanted to get it out since a few questions about this have been pointed in my direction
Therefore the need to put it out in the open and generate a discussion
IT is good that VDJ can always be mapped to the next best thing without any restrictions.
I currently use Timecoded CDs on my system and satisfied.. (still have a few hiccups now and then) with vdjs performance.
problems i guess arise with the hardware (midi).... jogwheels to small...on the RMX, total control, etc.. other things missing or needed and the NS7 to large to be considered mobile..enough
just guess...

at the moment i have two axis 9s x-session midi with fader...and xp shuttle.. all arranged beside each other in a coffin
I cannot carry it by myself.
What i really want is something so portable that... i use only a laptop ...something small like the vestax-300 and just an external hard drive.. I can setup basically in the smallest space if possible... Just need a all in one controller with just large enough jog wheels to carry off a not too shabby scratch
Would not mind if everything could be packed into a laptop bag and then i'm off.. that is my main reason for trying to get a midi controller otherwise i would just shoot for the CDj-400s get a mixer and stuff.. but i would be back where i started.. occupying too much space
wish i was as satisfied and found the right controller for what i want LARGER JOG WHEELS and probably i would have considered the RMX

if i did tayla.. then the wife would complain that i was not holding her
properly.....and probably kick my butt out....
guess i would just prefer waiting for controllers with larger jog wheels
smile
