If someone have the common Synaptics touchpads please test it ;)

Touchpad 2 Midi is a free VST plugin for Windows that allows you to use the touchpad on your laptop as a midi controller.

The touchpad can be configured as:

* An XY pad
* 4 sliders
* 4 Buttons

At the moment only Synaptics touchpads are supported - we are working on adding support for USB touchpads as well, but have not yet heard from Cirque / Adesso regarding how to read raw data from their touchpads. Some laptops use Alps touchpads these are unfortunately not supported either - Apls have been contacted.

I've Synaptics.
Where should I copy the .dll file?

What are CH and NUM?

Like a common VST you can copy into Document\VirtualDJ\Plugins\SoundEffect
but if you try to read the instruction you can use SAVIhost http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm or any ather VST Host program to open the VST with another external program because I don't know if VDJ can manage this VST for this strange use.

CH is the midi Channel number I hope.

I will try with my home pc this evening but in the meanwhile some other Exp user can try if it works! ;)

I copied the .dll file into soundeffect folder but when I enable it, the sound of the song goes OFF.
Another thing:
in information field of the effect, there is written
"DESCRIPTION: Incompatible VST plugin! (requires 0 IN and 0 OUT)"

But I have no idea what it means:-(

Do someone have an idea if a common touchpad HID mouse can be mapped like an HID controller in Virtual DJ?

I don't want to install virtual midi driver

hmm that's a good question actually, I have used the above app before and it works great (use it as a standalone app). If I get some free time I might try this idea out.

In waiting for an HID support for Synaptics Touchpad here the simple VDj 6 "Generic MIDI mapping.xml"

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<mapper device="SIMPLE_MIDI" author="Atomix Productions" description="Simple MIDI wrapper" version="602" date="17/10/2009" priority="-10">
<map value="MIDI_CLOCK" action="off" />
<map value="0-CC0" action="effect slider 1" />
<map value="0-CC1" action="effect slider 2" />
<map value="0-CC2" action="param_greater 0% ? effect active on : effect active off" />
</mapper>

Ps. Thanks to Moramax for the help about action param_greater
