Topic: Fixed Length Gaps

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi, I've just downloaded the trial of Virtual DJ and really like it so far. However one thing I would really like is to be able to specify fixed length gaps between tracks, as it is preferred to have breaks of say 2 seconds between tracks where I will be DJing. I've found the first of the options Fade(silence) which does a great job of ignoring any dead air at the end of the track and gets me half way there. But it uses a crossfade which has to be set to length 0 to stop it fading and then the next track starts immediately. Is there anyway of specifying a gap length or manipulating the options to achieve the same effect?

one method would be to create a two second "Air" mp3 using a program such as audacity and draging that between tracks in your playlist (asuming your using a playlist with automix)

if this is what your doing i'll do you one and upload it to my webby in a bit (Dropping the kids off!)

Yes that would be quite a roundabout way of doing it I guess! I think I can get by with 0 second cut transitions though. Are there any plans to add this kind of option or can anyone suggest some other DJ software which allows it?

It seems like you want a jukebox program. VirtualDJ is a professional DJ tool that has many functions, but it's designed to work manually. If you only want a playlist with 2 seconds pause, i would download Winamp. It's a setting in Winamp that let's you have 2 sec pause I think. :)

Yes possibly. The two main features I did want that seemed more DJ software related than jukebox were auto normalisation and removing dead air from tracks and there could potentially be others like modifying pitch. I don't particularly want to post process all of my tracks in this way as I figured something could do it on the fly (as VDJ is doing nicely). I'm not sure if somethuing simpler would be able to do this?
