I was looking through http://de.virtualdj.com/products/software.html#djbox and i discovered that there is sth called DJBOX, a completely automated solution, designed for those who want to let the computer play and mix the music on its own all alone. Its a stand-alone computer, dedicated to "vdj".
Surely a great invention for bars and smaller places, but i read on the serato forum that in the USA they have a sth similar (cant remember the name) that is taking over djs jobs. it´s mixing videos and is used in sportsbars or at burger king but over the last few month´s that thing took over regular bars and clubs. Mainly because the owners are able to choose the music, only pay once for "a dj" and get their mixed videos. I am for real, people are loosing jobs right now, and others wont get a opportunity to play in smaller places (thats how we all started, right?)
How do y´all feel about this?

it costs 4999,- and buyers get free music on a monthly basis, kind of a record-pool

It's been around for several years ... and nothing new to the community unless you never read the history of Atomix Productions
And it doesn't use VirtualDJ ... it has it's own software solution.

sorry, never seen someone talk about it, neither in the history of vdj i think. is there a place where one can read through atomix history? and not the vdj-history like in the wiki?
for how long is it around? i dont want to talk bad about this product,i just think its kind of "dangerous" for the dj-biz. i will try to find out the name of the product that i compared it to. It is getting bigger and bigger right now, that automated video-jocking thing.
thx for your fast reply :) peace
