Hello everyone,
I was recently exposed to several songs that sampled hip hop song such as Flo rida's Low and others with a drum and bass/house beat. Does anyone know who makes these/ where I can specifically get them (checked beatport). If you have some could you post a few good ones (just the names and remix artist not the tracks). The songs I listened to came out on the radio under mainstream radio play but were labeled as hip hop so they are not necessarily songs with F*Ck and N*gger repeated through the songs. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please respond.
Oh... I know about Ultimix and X-Mix... its not what I'm talking about by the way :)

You talking about mashups? Where they take the vocal from a known urban hit, and blend with a new instrumental, often a house or electro beat?

I didn't mean it like that, sorry for offending you. The mash ups are good. I think I found what I need but how would you find music like that? Besides youtube because you have to download it. Thank you for all your help.

Mashups are by concept, almost always not sold... Its a "bootleg" kinda, where a dj or some producers, blend 2 songs together..
Not really legal, but the record industry have looked the other way, as long as they are not sold...
So google for mashup sites. There are houndreds of them :)
Some mashup make it to main stream, and some even get intensely popular... such as Mylo vs. miami sound machine - doctor pressure.
But most are at the underground scene, so you just gotta google for them... bit of work, and lots of bad ones, but some are absolutely gold ;)
