NICE.
I use the AUDIO 8 and, in my opinion, it is the Cadillac of sound cards.

If this smaller version 4 is as good as the 8, it's bound to be a TOP NOTCH choice for VDJs.

its not possible to connect a externall power pack on the audio 4...don´t know if this is the best way...

the absolute best soundcard for digital dj-ing with timecode is the rme-hammerfall. the audio8 compared with the hammerfall is like ford compared with porsche ;-)

the hammerfall has "built-in" asio and can do almost "zero" latencity. i tried it, it´s awesome.

Do you know the price?

Audio 8 is a GREAT sound card. I'm just curioius what model of the rme-hammerall are you using, just when to there website and I see they have firewire versions only for external cards.

sadly i am not a owner of a rme hammerfall. but i had the tested this card and some users/moderators from the german forum are owners of this awesom soundcard.

take a look at here:

http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_hdsp_rpm.php

http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_hdsp_cardbus_interface.php

the hdsp rpm is no firewire interface. it´s just a firewire connector but the audio interface and the cardbus or pci/pci-e card
are using a own bus-protocol. more datatransfere (up to 130 MB/s in both directions, like pci or pci-express) and more stable than firewire or usb. rme is using a ultra low latencity and a zero cpu technique. i tested it, its really awesome and very expensive (about 700-800 euros for the interface with cardbus or a pci/pci-e card). sometimes on ebay you will get a used alcatec digiscratch/digiscratch2 box which is basicly the rme hdsp rpm for about 300-400 euros.

did you test it with time code?

yes, best performance, you can set the best settings in the setup and you will get the best results with lowest latencity and lowest cpu usage.

for further questions about the rme, ask armin MC, moderator from the german forum, he is a owner of the rme --->http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/armin_mc/index.html

he formerly owned a audio8 and switched now to the rme (and will never switch back).
