in an effort to keep size down and such, im wondering, do you think the rmx and vdj would work well on one of the new netbooks?
if your not sure what a netbook is its one of the smaller 8.5-10.5" laptops. they ususally have a 1.4ghz intel atom processor, 1gb ram and a 80-160 gb harddrive. the netbook would be a dedicated setup to my herc. just trying to go as small as i can. if anyone thinks it will work let me know please!

I know someone who has done it.
Don't expect video, and don't go crazy with master tempo and you should be ok :)

I was thinking about trying this with the lenovo S10 as well - my girlfriend has one (metallic Pink) and the irony of using it and the rmx and showing off with a buddy of mine is almost too much. His company is called pink noise.
Will have to try it next week.

Hello,
DJ Console Rmx + VirtualDJ 5 are well supported by Netbook using Intel Atom processor in Windows XP or Windows 7 (avoid any netbook with Window Vista, Windows Vista is not fast on big computers, and very slow on netbooks). The limit of netbooks is that you should not try
- Video mixing (Atom Netbook integrated graphics cannot help the CPU to uncompress and mix 2 videos files simultaneously)
- Time code DJing: the Atom CPU is too slow to provide a short response time when mixing with time code vynils or CDs.

I use The Hercules RMX with VDJ 6.07 coupled to a Lenovo S-10 Netbook. It works flawlessly. No video, but all the other mixing effects and again, it's flawless.

I used to use my netbook all the time, but had problems with skins etc for the small screen (using a DJ Steel), but since I upgraded to Pro (6.1) and got myself a Behringer DDM4000 and dual NDX800's, I've gone back to the netbook.
I know it seems counter-productive to use a netbook, then have to lug around a mixer and dual CDJ's, but I DJ with a CD DJ so it's the perfect setup...he can be playing his set, I come in, re-assign the non-playing NDX to MIDI, start up, match in then take over for my set... :)
Oh...and I'm using Mini Skin for Eeepc Netbook (available from the skins download section).
