What type of camera are you using: brand / model

Its a panasonic NV-GS250.

First, you're going to probably need to install some pc drivers for that camera. i got a CD with my Sony HC96 DV camera. After you install those drivers....connect your camcorder to a USB port on your laptop. Is will probably want to install more drivers. Once you're done with that. turn on your camera and try to find a stream setting in the menu. this will stream your video signal to your laptop usb connection. with your camera in camera mode...open up MS Movie Maker and make sure you have an image making it to your pc. If you do, then close Movie Maker and open up VDJ. Activate the camera option and you should be good to go!

is it possible to do this with my camera, it is a Aiptek Pocket DV camera?

What tab is the camera option in?
Can this be clicked on and off automatically? Let's say I am playing a music video and I transition to an audio only music, will the camera kick back on or click back off when I play a video file kinda like the clipbank option?

es it can be turned off.this camera option is in effects/video effects i think.

If windows:

o - when you plugin or remove USB camera device, it should go ding-a-ling :) but maybe not

o - goto control panel and select Scanners and Cameras and see if your camera is listed when it's plugged in

o - best to install drivers that came with camera, but with my logitech camera, I just plugged it in and it worked. The only difference was the display camera name will have some generic name like Camera Device or similiar.

o - Does it work outside of VDJ ?

Thx guys.

Just looked though and in the effects tab, I only have Boom, Boom Auto, Slideshow, and Clipbank as options. Is the camera a plugin I need to dnld, guess I need to look. hahah

I have a Mac. Guess the setting would be a bit different?

im not sure but i have mac and camera option is not in other/video effects and could not find it in download section.
