Yes, the 800's or 1000's work perfectly with a external 4 in 4 out soundcard. You need to download the TCCD timecode in the download section, burn onto a blank cd and make the necessary connections with rca's to the external sound card. There you go, a perfect system that rocks!

cool thanx so i put put that software on the cds and put the cd in the cdj's right???

I believe all future CDJ products will feature midi and have the sound device enabled, just as the CDJ-400.

This allows for full control, full customisation (control layout) and takes away the need of having a separate high end soundcard.

The CD drive becomes a solid back-up device, rather than running a timecode which is far more sensitive than using a midi device.

The cheaper iCDX also feature midi and USB control.

The CDJ800/1000 are the better option for scratching though.

Take a look at the new denon 3700 - also with midi .

That's right. Just insert into the cdj's and play! What external soundcard are you using?

maya44 is the soundcard im using......which brings me to another question what sound card can i buy that has more then 4 in's and 4 outs b/c i want to be able to use that sampler within vdj on one of the channels

Yeah if your looking at buying CD decks, then I would get the Denon DNS 3700. Such a brilliant deck!

yea they look awesome saw the demo....lots of stuff you can do with them

bewarned with Denon DNS3700 - bad reviews when used with Mac aparently, review in this months DJ MAG (UK).

Of course if your a windows user - go for it - i want 2 of these babies!! lol

not planning on using a mac ever there nice but my next comp im going to try and buy is going 2 be a sony viao and hopefully i can get xp installed on there as well.....hey i was also wondering what do i need to b able to record out of my mixer

Pioneer CDJs rule.. I have the CDJ 1000mk3s. You dont really need midi when you have all your functions on the keyboard short cuts. When it comes to table table top CD decks... I would stay away from Denon. Pioneers can take a beating that denons can't. That's why you see them in almost all the clubs.

yeah man those mk3 1000s are a fortune though lol would love to have them think im going to go with the 800s though my friend has a pair and there nice i like them alot......but hey does any1 know what i need to be able to record mixes out of my mixer

As CDJ 400's don't work with VDJ on Mac, could I get them to work by using a 4 channel external sound card like with the 1000's?

The CDJ 800s are really good. Running them with DJ software, you don't need the 1000's.
