Topic: A Quick Thank you & Video question

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi Everyone,

I would just like to give a quick thank you to all the people that have helped me out on this site and also
to give a big thank you to the people who work hard to make all the plug ins. Recently I downloaded the
Sonique FX plug in and I had been searching for this ever since I saw it with the Windows Media Player
Visualizations. I was just about ready to buy another laptop and have it running windows media player in full
screen with a random song just so the visualizations would be going. lol.

I also had a quick question regarding video output. I have an external Samsung SyncMaster 19" LCD monitor which I would like to
use as my VGA out for the virtual dj video. For some reason it only recognizes it as a monitor and when I press Fn+F4 on my laptop
it takes my entire laptop screen and puts it on the monitor. This is normal but obviously its not what I want. I have tried extending my
desktop on to my monitor and then dragging the video out box in virtual dj over to the other monitor and expanding it. The only problem is
it looks distorted and you see the window border. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I have to have a dual video out card? I have not tried to see what happens if I connect a projector.

Specs:
2006 Gateway Laptop
Windows XP Media Center
2.12 GHz
2GB ram
NO S-Video (would be nice)
1 VGA out port

Thanks,

Mario

For XP machines:
If your system is capable, follow these steps.

1) Connect your external video display, monitor, tv, projector etc...
2) Boot your system
3) Click start/control panel/ display/settings and check the box that says "extend my desktop" making sure the #2 screen is activated.
4) Open VDJ and click config and the video tab.
5) Select the video card in the drop box, click activate making sure the acceleration box is checked as well.

For Vista Machines:

1) First, Boot with the device connected so Windows recognises it.
2) Right click on your desktop and select properties
3) Then on the left side select "connect a projector of other device
4) A new window will then open, select "detect device".
5) Then another window will open, on that page select the second option to "show different parts of my desktop on each display" (extended)
6) Select "apply" and ok to close that window and you should be good to go.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Worked perfectly. It should be in the Guides files, I didn't see anything like this there on the forum.
