Hi, there are some steps you can take to change the codec settings, but I've not heard of anyone who's successfully got it to record video without it being jerky.
So most people either use an external DVD recorder or a programme called FRAPS to record the videos with. There's a free trial of FRAPS I think, but the proper version only costs $30 or something.
Hope that helps.

From the FAQ (http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/FAQ.html):
When I want to record my video mix, I get the following message "** Record Error ** Video codec not found". How can I fix that?
This error means that VirtualDJ can't find the selected video encoder codec (MPG4 by default) on your computer. Simply, install this codec or select another video codec.
A quick search also throws up plenty of information:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=%22codec+not+found%22+site%3Avirtualdj.com&btnG=Search&meta=
So anyway, I've just reinstalled my development PC, and as part of the install process I install CCCP for video playback. I installed VDJ and tried to record - sure enough, codec error, since I don't have the correct codec installated.
I downloaded DJCels registry tool, selected my ffdshow codec and it recorded and played back fine. Obviously I can't test extensively, but you should be able to install any video codec with encoding support, select it, and go.

I've gotten the record to work on XP installing codecs and using the DJ Cels registry editor, but no dice with Vista. Any thoughts?
