Heya,

i could do with a little help. i am having real trouble trying to figure out what size cases should be getting for my amps/x-over.
i am wanting to have them all in one case to make it easier to move around. thing is amp/x-overs are all different depths.

Amp 1 =16"
Amp 2 =14"
X-over = 5.5"

Would it be possible to get these all into one case.

Any ideas on what the depth of case i should get.

Chris would it not be better if you made your own custom case to suit, if your adept at a bit of diy it shouldn't take you to long to make and the fabric you can get will cover up a lot of minor inconsistencies, just remember to add two to three inches on the depth of the case to the deepest item.
 
Plenty of road cases that will handle your needs. Try google searching Road Ready Cases.....
 
should fit in a standard rack though...
deepest amp on the bottom, next amp on top of that, and x-over all the way up. Leav a few U's open for extra sound processing... done. ;-)

will take a couple of photos for you tomorrow a before and finished on amp cases see what you think, amazing what some black paint, a bit of cloth and some corners can do... and not forgetting the wood, lol
 
A standard rack case like that is so cheap to buy now especially if you just get a semi flight case.
 
You might consider a 8 to 10 rack space cabinet ,that will give you room
to allow airflow to circulate and leave some blank space (use perforated filler plates)
between amps and processors.

Place the deepest amp on the bottom and stack up from there ,leave air space and then mount shallower
processor(s).

Be sure to beef up and secure rear of amps so all the mounting weight is not on just the front screws.

Please consider some castors or wheels as amps get heavy quick.

Solid handles are a must.

You can prob. find a new or used case for less than a hundred bucks .

Building your own is pretty doable for most people ,I think everyone should build a few cabs

just to learn how to do it.

As to how much you can save ,,,,prob 25 or 30 bucks on this job but this could be several hundred

on larger or special size case.Is good skill to learn.

If heat is a concern you can always get an extra large rack and add one of these. If you look further on that site you will find heat probes and other useful rack accessories...
