I\'ve been getting irritated the last couple of Gigs that my Mixing console was too Low. Most Banquet tables are around 3 feet off the Ground and and My console is only a 2U rack with a slant top rack.
So I just picked up something very similar to this:

It's a simple wheeled tray that I also have at my Day Job (Mechanic) I can place my SKB case on top of it, place my black masking in between my speaker stands and I no longer have to stoop slightly to operate my computer/mixer. Best part about this type of Cart - is the Height is adjustable So I can place my console at a comfortable position for me.
BTW this is not the model I bought - the one in this picture is a little flimsy; it was only meant as an example.

Quite a good idea.
You could get some black cloth to make a curtain/drape around your stand to give it that final touch
:)

If I remember my Camera my next gig I'll take some pics. I used have my camera in my Kit But I took it to my office to transfer pics, and keep forgetting to place it back in my Mobile kit.

I use one of these at times.

This allows me to stack my 6U amp rack under my console and agjust the whole thing to the right hight.
Or if I just want my console, I can move it up.
Great for places where a table takes too much space.
I have a finished top for it that is wide enough to go low and high as well.
My next system will have a console built in up at elbow level, now I only bend over for keyboard searches.
Also have a friend that made 4 standard table leg extensions with pipe to raise the table to his hight.

For those of you that have a Wal-Mart nearby, they sell a laptop table that is perfect for basic setups:
http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=0&ic=48_0&search_query=laptop+computer+table&Find.x=17&Find.y=12
I have the $39 one that I use for wedding ceremony setups. They can be setup for lefties or righties.

Its know as Duct tape :D.
Great idea! I fixed my problem of stooping at weddings by increasing the hight of the laptop stand or just putting the dj coffin case on an upside down plastic container to raise the height abit.

and of course the most widely used brand of duct tape is... Duck!
and you can buy locking wheels to stick on that thing, just don't ask me how much they cost.
and if they won't let me have a paintball gun to shoot the linedancers with then how the hell am i gonna talk them into letting me have a nailgun?
oh well.. i can dream.

Locking casters will cost about 15 bucks a pair.
I don't know about DUCK tape. But 'round these parts we only use Red Green Endorsed Duct Tape

$30 Canadian dollars?... or USD? worth it if it stops drunk from making it roll off riser/platform/stage and crashing to ground, wires tearing out, etc.
Red Green show... wow. our pubic television station used to carry that, but i've lost track of how things are on Possum Lake.
