Speakers would be a good start. I recommend JBL Eon.

You are able to play your mix though a home stereo system, you can also use big computer speakers for house parties.

Hi Chris, am in the same situation as you. I mean "beginner" and I bought this Hercules Rmx package, couldn't get it to work at first it works now though. Next week I have my first dj job. I was in a panic at first but I know I can get this 2 softwares to work with one and another.

bbgrl! nice..im still learning how mix some songs and hopefully get upgrade to PRO version, then imma start buying some dj's stuff..good luck keep me posted...wer just both new to this...

welcome to the endless hole known as purchasing new and better equipment

I'm a Karaoke DJ and have a Behringer PMP3000 (Mixer amp) and Peavey Pro-15 speakers which are good enough for a meadium size Bar/Club. Used them in my house once for a party and nearly blew the windows out. So normally if we are doing a house party I'll use my friends Carlsbro AT12 speakers. Still very loud, but not so loud you start knocking the house down if you go too loud. Depends how loud you want to go, but like said earlier on a decent Home Stereo system will be good enough.

Cheers,
Mark

Speakers; B-52 Matrix 1000 V2 to start (later upgrade to the B-52 Matrix 2000 V2 for bigger venues) and a dbx DriveRack PX Auto EQ and/or a BBE 882i Sonic Maximizer, would be an awsome start. B-52 speakers systems are off the chain in sound and portability and the price is well less than $1000.00 US and several retailers throw in the speaker stands and cables. It has it's own amp built-in. I've been in this biz 25 years off and on and for the $$, they are worth it. I've used many types of speakers and I've heard every other brand out there so I know what I'm talking about. The dbx and BBE items I mentioned can come later but they are a nice add-on to ANY system.

My 20 & 21 year old son's have the same speakers with their set-ups which are the Herc RMX & Xponent

LMAO >>> this so true. That's why I love GC... I can play without buying and yes I take my laptop and soundcard in and start mixing. It's either that or I take it home for a day or two then I would end up bringing it back under their return policy. HINT, HINT, HINT

^^^ great idea...these speakers are direcly connected to the mixers right? thnx for the response...by the way any body here in this forum from LA, CA...seems every one is from uk, can, and east coast...

Right here!! I'm here in SoCali!! I am originally from LA County but now I'm chillin' in the suburbs of LA in Hemet/San Jacinto area of Riverside County, about 90 miles from downtown, kind of between LA, Palm Springs and San Diego.

Where in SoCali are you?

To answer your question...Yes they plug directly into the mixer, very nice, clean and easy way to go.

Peace...
