What kind music do you spin?

If any hip hop, you might want to go to the top and bottom of the bpm listings and 2* and 2/ some of the incorrect calculations.

ummmm.......can you explain that please sir?

i noticed that some of the bpms have the asterix * next to them

whats that all about?

thanks

That's in the manual (My Documents\VirtualDJ) page 14.

"Asterisk (*) in BPM column identifies tracks that have a pronounced beats per minute (BPM) rhythm for use with Beatlock and Automix options."

I finally read the manual and had some of my questions answered that I first asked here ... now I understand why the author of the manual gets frustrated when people ask questions when the answer is in the manual that he spent hours working on.

Because Hip Hop has odd beats other than the 4/4 beat like snare and kick. Slower counts usually in the 70s bpm may get calculated incorrecly. So in the search field put an * and should get all your data listings. Then RIGHT click on the BPM tab which will sort by BPM. If you scroll to the bottom or RIGHT click on the BPM tab, it will resort ascending / decending. Highlight that song if incorrect, choose scan bpm, manual edit, then *2 or /2... It will take you all of 15 or 20 minutes to clean up your listing. If a hip hop song is in the 150's range then you know to /2

If you see a music in the 60's bpm usaully because it has a longer vocal intro than normal. Then you *2 that song.

Some may argue about how much of a pain in the a$$ this is but us Old G's remember marking the 12" with BPM's and other useful info. So this is nothing more than taking pride in your work...

By the way.. How much SOUL GLO did you use up waiting for your scans?

fatty------

thanks for the info man; i appreciate it. i am beginning to understand what you are talking about.

i use about two bottles of soul glo spritzer a day depending on the weather.

lately it has been warmer here in cali so i have been spritzing before i go to bed and immediately after waking up---pushing my consumption to almost three bottles a day.

even in a recession---the soul glo industry is still going strong thanks to tightly glossy curled brothers such as myself.

keep the explanations coming

thanks again

Oh My God Dude, what a killer comeback, fatty was rough on a brotha, U win.....good attaitude !!! He's right, if you do hip hop, sort your tracks by bpm and you will see the built in VDJ algorithim misses a few. Right click on those less than 65 and hilite bpm, if you know the beat is faster hit the x2 symbol and walla you usually have the new beat at its accurate numba. And vice versa, go to your over 130 bpms and check a few of those to make sure there not doubled....thats where the /2 comes in....its amazing... And if both fails throw the track on the player and tap the manual sync button,, the ol human ear still gets one close occasionally.

Oh and I got one of those Toshiba Qosmio's also and have it running side by side to a similar equipped DELL....and whoop owww the Toshiba is Blazin up like a snoop dogg lefty...
