Topic: I need the help of my Techno DJ's

Wuz up my fellow DJ's...

I have a BIG Fashion Show coming up next month and I need some music for it.

I did the fashion show a few months ago and it was real good but I struggled with the music. I do not want to struggle this time. I need an amount of music to choose from and to give the designers more of a selection to choose from.

All help will be appreciated.

I think Melodic Trance might be a good choice, its a personal favorite style of music and I play it whenever I get the chance. It's fast paced to get the show going but it's not hardcore and overpowering. Its almost ambient yet alive and awake! It won't distract the audience there for the show yet it will set the tempo and the mood as well.

Can you give me some titles and artists?

I know next to nothing about the music. I can't tell techno from hard house from trance.

Hey City ;)

You being an urban scratch dj, I guess you by asking for all "techno DJs" is more your term for dj that dont play urban, than really reffering to the music genre techno..hehe

I feel that a fashion groove should be more uptempo sexy house beats, than trance or techno..
Ideally some sexy housebeats at 120-128 bpm

Getting up to speed on collection for club/house is fairly easy, since there are lots of great completion CDs released every quarter.

Get an album such as Dance Nation, The Annual or HedKendi .. later releases.. And you're up to speed on latest hits.

If you are going for Trance, get Armand Van Burens "State of Trance" albums, the latest being Armin van Buuren - A State of Trance 400 (released April). Get the 2 latest, and you have all the melodic trance you need for now (latest hits)

Here is a music example of a fashion show.. And its sexy house beats
 
Ministry of Sound stuff is great too, not a ton of difference in the stuff I mentioned though, what the hell...mix a little of both!

Yeah, defo could mix a bit of both, and I didnt mean anything bad ;)
That trance album you posted has some of awesome uplifting trance tunes, and the tracklist is amazing.

Just a bit worried that trance (at 130-135bpm) might be a bit fast for the models..
But one can always pitch down :)

And some of the tunes are cross-over yes, not that much difference,true ;)

I agree with you DJCity, this is definitely a place for us to get good advice from a group of down ass DJ's who know what's up...for the most part! Lol. I have been in this game for 25 years and I never stop learning, I guess when I do, that'll mean I'm dead! I've only been on this board a short time and these folks have schooled me on a few vital items so I'm humbled and glad to be a part of such an excellent community.
