Just bought a new WD ext hard drive. It is formatted "fat32".
I found that there are some folders already on the drive.
They are: WD mac tools WD windows tools autorun documentation
as well as setup.exe. (which I don't see why as drive works without setup)
Also it has install.ini and install log.
Can these files be deleted from the drive without causing any problems?
These files show up in VDJ, which I don't want them to appear.

As long as the computer hasnt installed the files at all they would be fine to delete. You would be better off formatting the drive to NTFS filesystem if you can.

if the drive is a compact 3inch low cpacity drive, there is no advantage to changing the format to NTFS.
but i would recomend this if the drive is over 500gb, though..

Why NTFS? It tends to be a little faster on I/O than FAT, also supposed to have better recovery capabilities.
How NTFS? Once your drive is fitted/connected, right-click on it and you should have an option to format it. Select NTFS as the format.
