Topic: Lots of noise when using herc and external mixer

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Howdy,

Been using my Hercules mk2 for a couple of years now and had that as my sole mixer when at home. When playing out I have always set it to use the house mixer and used the external mixer function.

I have now bought a shiny new audio mixer. An Allen and Heath Xone 62 which is awesome.

Anyway I want to use it the same way as I do when I play out i.e. route each output channel from virtual dj to a seperate channel on the mixer. However I am getting quite a lot of noise on the channels when I connect them up. It's not there at all when I have my decks connected to the mixer but as soon as I connect from the herc I get high pitched hissing noise. I can sometimes hear when I am opening and closing windows on my laptop too. Something is clearly not right.

Is there soemthing I can adjust to get rid of this?

I have a Dell XPS 1730 laptop.

Cheers in advance.

Can anybody shed any light on this?

I can actually hear a noise when I scroll up and down in a web page!

Uncheck the safe mode in the performence tab.

Hmmm still noise there. This is my performances tab.

I wonder if this is just going to be noise that I can't avoid. Seems like it's too high right enough...

Yeh its a bit like a ground loop hum.

I'll see if I can get some of those cables.

Will also try fiddling with the settings. Cheers!

I see you are a UK guy, mate :)

They're easy to get hold off, Maplins do 2 sorts.

I am indeed. Tell tale language was it? :)

So as I am taking two seperate channels from my herc to the audio mixer I'll need to get a ground loop isolator for each channel?
