Hello everybody... Okey, I'm not sure that it's professional things... but I have tried it many times and I think it's a good way to change song genere... (ex. from techno/dance to HipHop/Rap/R n' B)

(I'm not a professional Dj, I'm just 14 years old, 15 in april :p)

ex. on the left side it's a dance song and it's the song u are playing. and now u vill switch to the right side, and there it's a hiphop song. pause the dance-song, and do a backspin, move the crossfader to the right side and the whole time u hear the backspin... when the crossfader is on the right side scratch a "baby-scratch" or anything else, and play the hiphop-song :D

I hope u get it.. :p

(sorry for my bad english, I live in Sweden and I'm JUST 14 years old :p)

Yes that's a way to do.
There are many technics to change from a dance music to a hip hop song.
Train a lot and tell us how you do.

Other possibility:

=> Do an echo out (for example 8 beats) from the dance one (on a beat sound). Do a baby scratch on a beat of the hip-hop one just during the 5th and 7th echo then launch it after the 8th.

echo out, or backspinn until its almost quiet... then start the new song .. is a way I do often..
when going from a club song at 130bpm to a hiphop song at 98bpm....

i usually powerdown the deck and either just drop in the hip hop or maybe a scratch. i always felt a backspin would work but only if your new beat(hip hop) was an upper tempo like 100-110bpm, so that was the tempo don't crash on people if its 80-90bpm and the dance track was 133bpm its a hard adjustment. just my opinion

Not at all Listen 2, I just read your post and was confused in what sense you meant crash, so didn't know how to respond, thanks for clearing it up for me ;).

the funny part is that sometimes you can think of a method that will work and when you perform it something makes it not work as planned :<

Sometimes I'm in the middle of mixing, and the PC just stops for a sec,
and when I go to listen to it, it skipped a beat or two .......
my PC has been really slow lately, so full of games and programs. So sometimes it screwes my whole mix up.
Not VDJ's fault !!!!
