Are you sure? ive just looked on Microsoft website, on the vista pages, and there is no mention of SP2 there yet.
SP1 yes, and doing a search of theire site finds Vista SP2 Beta.
Where did you get the SP2 from??

I'm thinking that too. I've just had a quick look on the MS site and I can't find anything

SP2 has been out for at least a day, just run Windows update
Just ran a Windows update on my girlfriends netbook and it's detected it a 343.9MB file............I guess that will be SP2 then, lol

Yep, just over 300mb on 32-bit machines and around 550mb on 64-bit machines! Not sure why the huge increase but it was fairly quick and unobtrusive to let it run via Windows Update so I was happy enough.

Yeah, I got it through a windows update! So far I dont see a major difference it seems to be slighty faster but, for now thats all I can get out of it.
I've even ran a dick cleanup , registry cleanup, and a sytem defrag with auslogics and so far no nothing impressive.

I have a question.
My two machines are both running Vista, both are totally VDJ dedicated. (No Internet, games, etc) and I don't have any issues at ALL with either system. Should I update to SP2 or follow the "If it ain't broke" theory.

Erm, i would follow the 'If it ain't broke' theory, too.
If you dont connect to the internet, then i would wait a few days/weeks.

I'm away from home at the moment, but I'm going to give SP2 a go after my next gig night's.
But I guess it's down to yourself whether you want to install or not

Gig machines: dont do any updates just before the weekend.
wait until monday!
If something goes wrong, and you have 10 mins just before setting off for the gig, youre gonna be in deep!!

Good call Mark, you guys who haven't yet installed it are better to wait until Monday if you are gigging this WE. Mine is installing right now, I'm going to risk it! I've always been bad at taking even my own advice!!

Vista and Vista + SP1 wasnt good for my main GIG machine.
I had an issue with file transfers vs XP.
After the weekend is over, i have spare harddives, and will be testing out Vista + SP2 to see if my issues are addressed.
Win7 dosent have the same problem on the same machine. (But thats another subject which will not be discussed in this Vista Topic)

This must be done often but I'm not sure if it's gonna help to make computer run faster.

I don't update vista on my Gig rig either.
it's the same O/s as when it was installed.
