Topic: UNSCANNED SONGS KEEP SHOWING UP EVERYTIME VDJ IS STARTED

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Everytime I start VDJ, I still get songs that show up unscanned. Now I know for a fact that all my songs have been BPM'd and added to the DB search but everytime I start VDJ, I get a few songs that have the yellow question mark like if they've never been scanned. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Running Vista by any chance? I had the same problem a year ago, it was something to do with granting permissions in windows for vdj to access/write to certain files... any Windows experts feel free to chime in at this point!

Have you tried going into Browser and clicking the fix button? Don't know if you'll have to rescan the files that say they haven't been. Just guessing, I haven't had a single issue with the upgrade so far.

Not sure if you were addressing your question to me or the original poster, or both! Anyways, I'm running Vista. There was a similiar suggestion related to permissions in the thread I referenced above. I've already ensured all vdj folders, files & tracks have the correct permissions. I'm also running with admin priivileges so not sure there's a permission problem on my end.

Also, unlike DJ_john24, I don't have this issue each time I open vdj. I only seem to have it randomly upon adding & changing tracks.

I've been trying to reproduce it againt right now (adding new tracks & renaming another) but can't!!

Just curious... You are on an account with full admin permissions right?

Correct, and was also with V5.2.1 when it happened. (Currently on V6.0.1).

Oh what a bummer. As I was specifically told that these database-data-loss issues were corrected with the new uni-code VDJ6.0 system.
Although I haven't upgraded yet that was one of my biggest concerns/hopes. I explained that because of this happening that filter folders like "newest-added, etc" would all fill up with old songs that lost data and needed to be rescanned. For ex. I have a filter folder that lists my last 100 added songs by date. More than 1/2 of them have been on there over two years. I'll be looking for this when I do upgrade this week and hope I don't see it, however. I run a 1.5 gB laptop with windows XP sp3 and started aseeing this around version 4.3 or so.

It was happening on two different laptops and a PC Shuttle with 2 gB ram internal HD with nothing loaded on it except VDJ, also running XP sp3.
