Topic: CD Decks/Midi Controller

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi, i've been looking around for while now for the cheapest CD Decks that can also act as a Midi controller, such as the CDJ 400. I currently use a controller with VDJ and my hardrive but want to be able to practice with CD's at home.

The cheapest i've seen is an American Audio one for around £360.

Also, anyone have views on this yet.. any past experiance with Reloop, http://www.reloopdj.com/product_info.php/info/p482_Reloop-RMP-3-b.html

Thanks, Martin

just get a pair of cdj 800's and use the tc cd from the download section. thats what i use and it works GREAT!

numark ICDX is a very good player as well as long as you will do limited scratching...

I wouldnt use Midi cd players. I preffer cd players using time codes. I have 2 CDJ 1000mk3s. The CDJ 800s are really good to. I dont like the fact that you are using too much usb ports.

any cd player with line outs can do timecode. as long as it can read the timecode cd, it will be able to control the software.

So the TC thing in the hardware section can be downloaded to a CD and used in my CDJ's?

Any cd player whether is a DJ or home cd player (example) can read a time code. Time code is just a audio signal giving comands to play the music files in your computer. Just down load and burn as audio file. Times codes are designed to play on any cd player

I know this is a dumb questions but here is my situation
I bought rmx but need to convert vinyls to computer. Can it be done in the VDJ program? Or use adobe audion and rmx sound card?
I also have 2 pioneer cdj 700 and a djm 500 mixer and wondered if the timecode cd's will work the same as newer pioneer cdj's.
The rmx is ok but no slip-cue feature..

Any advise would be great before I take back and look at serato and newer cdj's..
thanks

it's not a good idea to use Time coded when you have the option to use midi controllers ...for example denon 3700 , you don't need soundcard , cue , loops , loop move , search , explore folders and songs , load , effects ...all in one machine ...A regular cd player can't do nothig similar - It's time to MIDI my friends , forget about soundcards , cables and time coded cds (BTW : they are working but not 100% perfect)

1) CDJ 1000 - with time coded you can use : play , cue , pitch & pitch bend .. And it's not perfect (play from a cue point it's a nightmare sometimes) - You also need a good soundcard -

2) Denon 3700 (or others ) - you can play Cds - You can plug a hardisk or a stick - You can use MIDI with all the functions :
Play - Cue - Loops - Fxs - Loop move - explore folders & songs - Load - Unload - add to playlist and all the functions that the software have .
You don't need a soundcard (the sound is really good) - AND you have all the INFO in the hardware : bpm - lenght - artist - song , etc ...

And more : 2 denon 3700 are cheaper than 2 pioneer + soundcard - Time coded was good , now we have GOOD MIDI options .

Get the Denon S1200's. That's one of the Cheapest MIDI to VDJ options on the maket. They do everything the CDJ400's do but with a few more bells and whistle. They are stable and serve as a good backup option in case something goes wrong with your MIDI connect. See my profile for my Dj setup. If you are in the states, AGIPRODJ is a certified Denon dealer and they match prices.

Cuidate!
