Not gonna repeat my issues I had with 6.0.1 which have been posted four weeks ago approx, just wanna know when we can expect the fixes as so many are reverting back to 5.2.1 because of unexplained issues with or with out controllers. The other reason I ask is that 5.2.1 shutdown unexpected over the weekend after clicking on search a problem which I was told was fixed in 5.2.1. No external devices attached to the lappy all files checked checked and cleaned before the gig. I was awaiting patiently but realised today how much time has passed since VDJ new baby had been released so I was hoping the issue fixes were immnient.

You should know by now that release dates are never announced.
I suspect many users are running v6 successfully; I have been for some time and have no issues with any of my controllers - in fact thanks to v6 I can now support my Ecler EVO5 in a far better way :)

Hi SBDJ
That's true. What was also true uses never had issues with previous versions but bugs were prevalent and fixed. As bugs have been recognised in 6.0.1 after release and with expectation of 6.0.1 being the mother of all I would had thought that obvious design bugs would had been picked up at Beta stage. Whilst questioning this I would like the team to have some of my CD+G files for testing as no one has given an explanation as to why they play on 5.2.1 but not 6.0.1 as Karaoke is 60% of my business it frustrating not to be able to take advantage of 6.0.1 to the full at the moment. To be fair the team said there is an issue and sorting this but that was many gigs ago. No different to not being able to play 30% of your video files no matter what the compression rate. Just had a eureka moment whilst writing this. I have just thought of a solution which may work and that is changing my cd+g files to bin files and then reverting back again as this may change the rates with in the graphics folder and then zipping. Although still don't explain why they play in 5.2.1 ?

The search bug issue was to be fixed in 6.0, don't know if it has or not, some users have still reported it. Personally I have not had a problem with it yet (it was quite random and sometimes I would go 3-4 months without it happening so we will wait another 3 months and see).
I don't use controllers so I can't comment on that...although I am going to buy either a steel or rmx as soon as I get the deposit from the new club I will be working for. So if anyone has any comments on any problems with them in 6 I would like to hear about them and how they were corrected.
Other than the new support for tags in mp4 files I don't see any advantages to 6 as opposed to 5. The only problems I ever had were the search bug and the slight video freezing when loading and looping some files and those problems still exist...annoying but no big deal. The only feature I can recall they added that would be kind of cool was "get food" but since most of my gigs are at clubs that also have restaurants that feature is kind of irrelevant (and I am never on the net when I play anyway).

The big feature in 6 is VDJ Script which applies to skins and controllers. If you don't use controllers then you won't see the improvement ;)

Beta never irons out all the bugs; otherwise every piece of software would be perfect. Just ask Microsoft.

If I had that issue I would have picked it up before going live and stayed with 5.2.1. I understand you've got this issue and would like it sorted, but as I said above - the team never give out release dates ;)

With respect that is just the same as having to play each and every mp3 and video to ensure they all played on 6.0.1 . As i pointed out they play on 5.2.1 so whats changed. Whats annoying non of the team can answer this question. Obviously an oversite by the guys who wrote the new script. Just a pity as it should had been picked up at Beta stage, hence why we long term users asked to test it before release.

Karaoke is an awkward one I guess because you'll never know what files you might have to play; for me it's going to be a more limited set of files and I did a run through of several previous sets several times before taking v6 live.
Anyway I'm sure the team have been made aware of the issue and will have it fixed for the next release. As I said though, they won't give you a release date. They never do. As a "long term user" you already know this I'm sure :)
I will say though that the release was tested very very extensively - some things are always missed. The fact that this isn't affecting all your karaoke files means that it may not have affected any of the beta testers at all. A lot of the problems people are experiencing though are actually down to them not understanding how things in v6 work. Not all, but a lot...

I agree with you with regards to folks problems occurring due to lack of understanding of software. I am in the process of unzipping all my cd+g files and then try out 6.0.1 unfortunatley they are going to go on an external drive of which I wanted to avoid as most of my crashes were external and since upgrading my drives and having all data on internals I never had a crash with 5.2.1 only a mysterious immediate shut down and this I posted was a search issue but thinking about it i just clicked on the screen when it happened so skin related I guess. Got 48 hours to run some test with 6.0.1. Just a pity that a new software has tainted my opinion, for a while anyway, we know it will come good in the end.
I must admit trying out on another system of mine the testing new skins - it certainly looks as if Tractor and PCDJ and many more will take a big hit on sales in the future as VDJ as almost covered all aspects of Dj software it almost felt good being one of the elite users however its becoming so damn popular especially on the pirate scene that changing the skins detract from it be obviously VDJ to stop folk coming up and saying that they use that at home etc............
