Hi
Me and few of my friends want to start Dj'ing, using Hercules Mk2 and Virtual DJ with a speaker system.. Is this all we need to start off or we need more? We are short of funds and budget limits us to around 200 pounds (British pounds).
And is there any good tutorials on mixing based on video so it is easy to understand?
Thanks

also check out your local maplins store, they have some great deals on dj/disco gear all the time, just the sort of stuff to get you started.

i think the answer your looking for is, YES! that is all you need... you can start from the mk2, vdj and sound system with no problems at all. then just work your way from there.
the mk2 is also a sound card device so you can connect external timecodes in the futur if you wanted. you can probably actually get a set of turntables and a decent mixer for your £200 and some timecode vinyls too.
take your time and think about what you want to do and where you want to take this. if you want to be a club/pub dj and perform live then you could benefit from a set of TT's or cd's.
for now though you are quite ok to just use your MK2, VDJ and hifi system. just be sure to have your pc set up to use your headphones for monitoring and cueing too or you may get a little stuck. theres a guide here that i wrote that will help you out with the headphone setup but have no fear.....you CAN get started with just what you have.
