what does the real virtual dj have than the virtual dj you can download at the piratebay???

Not really sure what a pirated version will give you, but the most important things you're probably missing are (in order of importance, IMO):

(a) Stability (you won't get this from any pirated version!)
(b) Additional Functionality (you're probably missing out on the ability to download skins, plug-ins, etc. that will expand the VDJ experience!)
(c) Support (some exceptional support that some very experienced folks in this forum can offer!)
(d) Netsearch and.....(well, if you're a pirated-version user, then I guess there's no point in getting into this for you :-))
(e) Respect from fellow DJ's in this and other forums (but this one may not "light your fire", especially given your question in the 1st place!)

(f) Probably a lot more that I can't think of right now, but I'm sure others will "fill in the blanks", so to speak, if they think you warrant an answer!

If your question is not intended as a troll, then just read this and the other VDJ forums and you soon see what the differences are...

quite simple really
apart from the other stated features.. like access to skins, addons, etc, great support, stability, tutorials, netsearch....the best of all you are a registered user, and you get all updates free for life...

<sarcasm>That warm and fuzzy feeling of being able to look down on everybody who are too cheap or broke to buy the legal version.</sarcasm>

It's always nice to know you've paid for something, when it's of value to you...

As a paid user you have a direct line (via this forum) to the development team, if you have any good development suggestions/requests then they'll be taken seriously here.

The other advantage not mentioned is that you get updates on the day of release.

tnx guys this really helped and now i wanna buy VDJ, but im confused some say i should buy mixvibes too

mixvibes dont crash

i have not had any big bugs with it if there is they fix it asap

So, let me get this straight, your recommendation is to buy mixvibes instead of Virtual DJ? I just want to be clear, and not jump to conclusions

Mixvibes does have problems too, just go to their website and read the comments people have made there, just like here you can read peoples problems, that is what forums are for.

I've seen you on the website (dj_cross_fade) so I know you've seen issues people have with it, most of your posts are "how do I" questions, (in a sinister voice..."I'm everywhere!" lol).

To all others: You will find that there is no such thing as a perfect product. While Mixvibes is a cool software (I own it too), it isn't compatible with many controllers out there like VDJ is, just read the comments of people and their wish-lists. It has many cool features but it still doesn't compare to VDJ or even Serato & Traktor. It's coming up but is relatively new to the software scene in comparison to VDJ. The three biggest DJ software programs out are VDJ, Serato & Traktor everything else is just fighting for fourth place.

That's clearly what he is saying, just read a post or two of his on the MixVibes forums, he compares the two during a topic about an issue he has with Mixvibes, then he goes on to say "...but hell there's alot more bugs in vdj "

Just read this, this link was posted on the MixVibes website, the MV topic is "Top Ten Review"...The DJ Software Top 10 review...Keep in mind VDJ came in second and Mixvibes in fourth...

PS: He actually says something positive about VDJ here...(in hope of helping Mixvibes to keep up, lol)

if you mix with coded vinyl then yes . cause it reads at 32 sample rate (.03 ms real time vinyl) vs vdj being at 64 sample rate (1.5 ms)
again i like vdjs layout . but being a turntablist i find that mixvibes has more of a natural vinyl sound when scratching or stoping the record .
this also means that when pitching up and down on your turntable mixvibes has no lag . where as i have to readjust my self alil for vdj and i love the cover art in vdj .

how ever if you or going st8 midi i then the way to go is vdj . vdj has alot more presets then mixvibes does .
both software's have a bug with smart mode lol so say away from that .

the bad:
mixvibes dvs PRODUCER lacks in skins
vdj sampler pad sucks and has no eq for each pad
vdj seems to crash alotl and has alot more bugs than mixvibes
mixvibes dvs pro needs work on the master tempo
vdj master tempo
vdj is stuck at 4,100 hz at 16bit
mixvibes dvs PRODUCER lacks mac support

the good:
vdj has many skins
mixvibes can be set to 96 hz at 24bit
mixvibes has a sampler with eq for each sample pad
and u can have up to 100 pads (im cool with 16)
mixvibes lean midi .
mixvibes has cue loops (witch means that it if u want to set a 4 bar loop and save it u can)
mixvibes cross supports make
mixvibes cross works with mixvibes PRODUCER

moving on to mixvibes cross pro .

if u dont use a sampler and what the best master tempo out there and use turntables with no vid mixxing then cross is the way to go

all in all what im saying is that if u or a turntable dj then go mixvibes .

o mixvibes cross is only 150
like vdj u need your own sound card .

yes that is me :) lol

ps i feel that ssl is way to over priced for what they have
there sound card is not the best out there
and if u want to upgarde sound cards your stuck

this is where im going to add a nuther good point to both vdj and mixvibes

u can buy any sound card u want .

this is where vdj may get shot down .

if u want vdj to take full power of a rme sound card like i have

it wont !!

mixvibes will take full power of a $700 and up sound card set up from rme

both sofeware have there good and bads
in my mind there's only 2 dj sofeware's that u should look at and dont try to rip u off like ssl
or even ts
and that my friend is vdj and mixvibes .

IMHO MixVibes video support is still in it's infancy, and VDJ's MIDI support is far far far superior.

On the timecode side of things, VDJ's timecode engine is extensible - so theoretically someone could write their own timecode implementation that could make use of Mixvibes TCV :)

Crashing is subjective however - I can count on one hand the number of live crashes I have had over the years I've been using VDJ - all but one was my/hardware fault too.

+1

I'm sure Mixvibes has some positive points too - I'm not knocking it - 96/24 support is probably a good thing although most music will be nowhere near that so there will plenty of resampling going on. VDJ has plenty of points it could improve on too don't get me wrong - adoption of elastique for example would be fantastic IMHO.

The problem I had was I just didn't find the video system anywhere near flexible or user friendly enough and the MIDI system was, well, pants.

+1 for elastique

Today is another day, so I let it go.
