Topic: Sound card weird issue! need advice and help please!

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Just recently I installed a Delta44 PCI sound card in my rackmount computer..
Everything seemed perfect until last saturday..

I went to play a song a rarely play and it sounded completely fried (like digitaly distorted).. ended up playing it off my backup (laptop)

On monday I checked it and everything looked ok.. still couldnt get it to play BUT! it sounded fine with the preview..

Setup: I'm using a 2 sound card setup with an external mixer, Deck 1 & deck 2 goes too the Delta44 card, and the third channel (preview and samples) goes to the motherboards internal sound card..

I also checked to make sure the song plays ok on my desktop..

so here's the thing:
There is something about this one MP3 that makes it incompatible with the Delta44 PCI card! ??
All the other songs (that a play every weekend) all work fine, including the videos..
The song also plays fine in windows media player (but not using VDJ via the Delta44)

so I'm thinking somehow this song is encoded differently?
What scares me is I don't know how many other songs might also have this "weirdness", and going thru 40,000 songs to find out which ones are an issue would be problematic to say the least..

Any suggestions?

Is their a relatively easy way to check on the actuall details of an mp3? (besides what explorer tells you)
IE: to see if it was encoded VBR joint stereo etc etc.. and that combination is an issue?

thanx!
