Topic: QSC speaker advice

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

i own a hpr153i and a hpr181i sub...for the past month i was thinking or buying the another sub and speaker.. but i just found out qsc has a new line out called the k series.. oh man idk what to do because i could either leave the two speakers i bought for the new series or just buy the other two i need...

QSC hpr153i:cost$1,199.99:700watts

QSC hpr181i:cost$1,329.99:700watts

QSC ksub:$1,049.99:1000watts

QSC k12:$799.99:1000watts

im all confused because the smaller lighter louder speakers cost less than my expensive heavy ones...can someone help me make my mind up?
either buy the rest or buy the new and abandon the my speakers...

i say sell what you have and get the new ones. They're smaller, louder, more efficient and really amazing. they have the tilt feature and from what i hear, sound beyond amazing.

When you ar spending that kind of cash see if you can get a demo. You would not by a car without driving it so don't buy a speaker system without hearing it and in your case comparing it to what you have.

A nice combo would be the QSC k12 and QSC hpr181i

I couldn't be doing with going out with that big 3 way thing, I know it must sound good but the 12's n 18's would be enough for most jobs I would of thought. And it looks like a more traditional rig

I used to go out with dual 15's n 18" bins but my RCF 15's n 15" bass bins do the job great and are such less work.

it is a tough choice..
Your HPR will sound better because of the wooden cabinets, and lets face it, a 12" will never sound like an 18", no matter how much power you throw at it..

but the price and the weight make a HUGE compensation package..

Myself? I'm a mobile DJ lugging in speakers every weekend... frack the sound quality! I would rather save my back and go with the lighter speakers. and unlike many of the plastic speakers out their, QSC did a really good job at keeping the "plasitiky" noise to a minimum..

that's why I said keep the 18's you have and just get the 12's for the top then the only plastic your carrying is the tops

Carry the 18's up a set of stairs a few times.. I will guarantee the dual 12' sub will start sounding a lot nicer. LOL ;-)

No doubt... but I actually just listened to the K12 last night and spoke with the QSC rep too. The 18" sub really does blow away that dual 12 sub, like night and day, but it is much bigger and heavier. In fact I think the K12 was 57 lbs or something like that as opposed to my 18 which is 127 I think.

i just picked up a ksub and after loading and unloading some old cerwin vega 18" subs, its very nice just wheeling this llittle guy to where you need it, saving to get another one, 2 of these side by side, is all the low you will ever need.

check out these guys they'll give you a good deal
and fast shipping

I just purchased the K12’s and they kick ass over my Mackies 450’s…
Get them.. If your doing your average room you will not need the sub but dammm, they should great with one.. Defiantly get the bags.. they are $80 per but these things scuff up very easy..

sorry man.. about 40lbs

Just as a side note, I charge extra for doing gigs in venues which are upstairs.

If you are using 18's get some heavy duty wheels/castors fitted and get hold of a stair climbing trolly. They have 3 wheels on each side on a triangular mounting. Saved my back many a time.

Their nice but to small for me.my client want to see why they get charged $1275 per weddings.their cool for bars and house partys.not nothing bigger.

Hey everybody, I have been using RCF ART525As for almost a year and I absolutely love them. They don't fill a room as well as my good ole yorkville elite 401s, but they are 1/3 of the weight, and smaller, and the quality is much higher. Like stated above, a great compensation package.

That system is in NYC at home right now, and it stays there for all my NY bookings. I'm living in Orlando right now and will be here for another couple of years. I have been borrowing/renting a mackie 450 rig for a while from an associate, but am getting tired of the back and forth with the guy every weekend. I'd love to bring my RCF system down, but like I said, I need it in NY for numerous bookings.

Time for me to make the investment and assemble a sound system here in Orlando, but know for a fact that I don't want the Mackie powered system....I'm over it.

My question is has anyone done a side by side comparison of the K series and RCF ART series? If so, I'd be interested to know. I saw the demo at the AC expo, but walked right by it because I was so happy with my RCFs. Just goes to show, never be complacent and always be prepared to adapt!

Any advise would be great.

Thanks.
