I have a Hercules Mk2
VDJ Latest
Toshiba Sattelite
Since upgrading to version 6 the crossfader on the screen has started to shake about, I think this may be a coincidence though because its getting worse everyday and I assume that it is my crossfader on the Herc that is wearing out.
Does anyone know, is there any maintenace you can do on the crossfader or can you get a replacement? Or should I tell me girlfriend that now is the time that I just HAVE to stump up the cash for the RMX????!!!!
Cheers

Well, you can start by testing the MK2 as a MIDI controller to see if the cross fader seesm to spikes, using the following method:

If everything seems fine there, try loosening the screws holding the crossfader (NOT TOO MUCH!!), wiggle the crossfader a bit and screw it back. Blowing some air into it may also help.

If its the fader wearing out, try some faderlube. http://store.caig.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.293/.f

Lubing may help like YK23 said but I'm not sure how that will effect the software. The RMX is a great stepup and you won't need an external soundcard. Check out the series of RMX & VDJ videos on DJ Advise's channel. here's Part 1...
