I have new MacBook Pro 13" with 10.5.8 leopard. I would like to know if:
1.) Stick with Virtual DJ 5.2 & Current 10.5.8 Leopard
2.) Upgrade to Virtual DJ 6.0.2 & Stick with current 10.5.8 Leopard
3.) Stick with Virtual DJ 5.2 & Upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard
4.) Upgrade to Virtual DJ 6.0.2 & Upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard
WHat would be the best combination that has the least bugs involved? Should I wait for a few bugs to be worked out first? What do yous recommend...which choice? Thanks so much!

i say go for Number 5, thats install bootcamp and the latest vdj for windows.
Reason i say that is that i now have a hatred for VDJ for mac, it doesn't work and don't ever expect it to and if they ever want to change my mind (and others) they need to get their act together and fast because mac vdj is gaining a very bad reputation
If its a bedroom setup then i guess the mac vdj is ok but no way would any serious DJ use it live, unless they want heart problems.

Before anyone can really answer the question, one needs to know what your running. moving to snow leopard make your system even more dependent on 64 bit, and this will cause mac audio drivers to act funny on many sound cards (10.5.8 kind of does this already). However I find that certain controllers (specifically the Pioneer CDJ-400) are extremely well suited to the new mac environment. VDJ no doubt runs better in Windows (as do many other DJ software platforms), but if you are a Mac guy at heart you should build your system around it. If you have your heart set on a particular type of DJ setup (timecodes, CDJ, vinyl, Denon, etc.) search the forum for that equipment and find the setup that works best. VDJ 5.2 is very stable and runs well even on Snow Leopard. 6 does as well but you must know its limitations (especially when dealing with time coded vinyl).

I'm using a brand new MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and a Hercules RMX console. I've had numerous issues with ver 6, but have found ver 5.2.1 to be quite stable for gigs.
I was previously a Windows user, but Vista was killing me with 2-3 crashes per night. I returned my new quad core 6GB Ram/ 1GB Video RAM HP laptop and got the MacBook. I will never go back!
The only things I really miss are the text tool for putting messages up on the screen, the "show logo" tool (I used to show the club logo) and photo album tool doesn't work right with 5.2.1. My videos play fine and so do audio files.
On Vista, I used to "blow up" with the add on programs anyway, so better to be stable without them than unstable with them.

its strange though how yes vista/xp on any other computer i have used has been awful, the whole reason i left windows. even my wife's new laptop causes problems, i just hate it, but with windows on a mac its is superb.... lol
My bootcamp is purely for VDJ, no games or anything. Been practising for hours along with my recent gig and no problems at all, perfect.

Agree 100%. I am tired of VDJ for MAC. It does the Job but, it does not compare to the superior PC version, Go Bootcamp, don't install crap software, just the system and VDJ. It will fly as smooth as silk with very tight controls and response. Also what almost no mac user wants to see, the flicker in the mac version does not exist in the pc version on a MAC, why can't they fix this?
