I wonder if anyone else has noticed this yet...Pioneer released this DJM-5000 demonstration video couple days ago.
Look closely at the monitor ;)

Edit: the topic was supposed to be "Pioneer <3 Virtual DJ" but apparently the person who programmed the forum software was sleeping on the job ;)

Lol, that's DJ Jay, I know him personally, he lives one city over from me, he's cool people... Pioneer can't mention any specific software programs in any "official" Pioneer videos or any other media form because of legal issues and copyright laws.

I like this mixer but I wish there was a 12" version as 19" is too big for me.

It's 19" because it is rack-mountable. It was designed with mobile DJ's in mind but I can see where it could be applicable in a club environment or in a flight case next to the new CDJ-2000s. I am going to buy the 2000s and have considered this new mixer to go with them but like you said, it's too big or actually long to fit in a flight case with the CDJ-2000s so I'll stick to my DJM-800.

so this mixer is actually a soundcard also.looks great and 4 channel for cd players as backup in case of crash.has anyone used one with vdj and if so whats the sound like with digital files as i know pioneer equipment is normally brilliant.how about the team sorting a promo with pioneer for the mixerand a reduced rate to advertise vdj in vids in future.just looking for recession prices lol

can this have 3 lines coming out of the laptop? one for deck 1 another for deck 2 and a third line for the samplers? it would be nice to have an independent channel for the sampler section.

It does have send and returns channels like my DJM-800

This would have been a great option for me if it were out when I was mixer shopping - I needed something that had built in audio interfaces.
I ended up going with a Mackie d.4 Pro, and it's been a solid piece of kit that does everything I need. Probably a bit cheaper than this too, but some really kickass features on the DJM-5000!

I can't verify this from personal experience, but with 99% certainty I say: Yes it can. Since you can already do the function what you describe with a (at least) 3-channel sound card & (at least) 3-channel mixer, you can also do the same thing with this mixer. It acts just like a sound card with a 4-channel output.

sweet!

The Four Channel also got a USB 5/6 so I think it could be used as 3 Way mixer in VirtualDJ too.

No, you can't. The mixer has only one USB-connector and thus can be plugged only to one laptop...assuming you're going to use the built-in sound card of the DJM-5000.
You can of course connect two laptops to one mixer if both laptops have their own sound cards, but this is something you can do with ANY 4-channel mixer.
