I'd like to get some video effects to download and play but don't know where i can get them. Using VDJ 6.0 pro.

Please open your own new topic rather than hijacking another that is not related to your question. Downloading video effects and linking videos has nothing to do with joining a DJ pool which this topic is about.

Video effects are only available to registered licensed users of VirtualDJ Professional.

You will need to upgrade to VirtualDJ Professional to gain access to these - Your DJ Console RMX entitles you to a big discount. To upgrade, please go to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Enter your RMX Console Edition serial number in the box provided.

If you have already purchased VirtualDJ Pro, please register your serial number via the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html

you still have to do your homework to find songs, the record pools are not the end all. I have received songs from other sources way before the record pools hade them, it makes you wonder sometimes. also sometimes you will get the song and the pool only has the dirty and you will have to make your own clean edits.

Thanx, big mark. What pool do you subscribe too?

Right now I use 8th wonder, before I used to use Franchise record pool. both were similar but 8th wonder has more videos than franchise. also 8th wonder is on $10 per mo so its a small investment with a big return. franchise is $20 per mo... if your really on the cheap just join digiwaxx or greenhitz all free.

Can anyone here comment on Promo Only

Promo Only is probably the top physical pool overall. They get LEGIT music very quickly.

But CDs are expensive, take time to ship to you, there's too much filler you'll never play, and... it's a disc, which no one uses anymore. You'll be wasting time ripping it to MP3s

Promo Only is best for mobile DJs who need the latest radio hits and crossovers and don't have the time (or don't care) to research their music

I use 8thwonder and promoonly. The video quality with 8thwonder is good, but promoonly is much better. I've also used TM century in the past as well as digiwaxx. The thing with 8thwonder is I feel it's borderline legal. By that I mean, many of videos have the promoonly watermark on them. Hmmmmmmm.

Still, a great service

ok so dumb question here, but, what's a dj pool????

You get music from them without paying for. BUT you must be a professional DJ and show them how often and where you play music, how many visitors you have in the club and other things like that.

Some pools you can pay for and get the newest songs from them.

Greets, Heiko

ah, no good to me then.. im only a bedroom dj at the moment..

Well im a member of 8th wonder and Franchise they both have there pros and cons.... 8th wonder gets new songs about the same time as franchise but 8th wonder ID3 Tags are awful Franchise is much cleaner, also Frachise has there intro/outro tracks updated alot more often and there diggin in the crates(old school) is also updated more often actually 8th wonder has not come out with any old school tracks for months. But one thing that 8th wonder blows away Franchise is Videos they have tons of Videos and there are very good quality. so its up to you if you do alot of video 8thwonder is the way to go but if you do more music i like Franchise alot.

I've used digiwaxx and 8th wonder, but I like zipdj the best. they organize the music so all the mixes are in one place, and you can download a whole bunch in one go

for anyone worried about being rejected, I had a late night show at my college radio station, and was playing one night a week at a local club... that was enough to get into the pools

I find that a lot of record pools only contain intro's of songs and stuff. I go to https://www.themixtools.com/ they have all kinds of edits from latin, hip-hop, 80's, oldies edits for dj use only.

I am mostly a private party DJ and Wedding DJ. I Thinkj I will go with 8th Wonder.

Are there any recomendations to have some wicked remixes or 8th wonder would do the trick?

How much cost Zipdj?

http://www.zipdj.com is the only AVLA licensed digital DJ pool on the internet at the moment. As a Canadian DJ, you are required to have AVLA licensed material for public performances. That's the brutal truth. 8th wonder, mymp3pool and other pools are not recognized by the AVLA and you could face some very heavy fines.

Ok so ZipDJ would be the answer then, are you a customer?

I'm a member of various pools, as well as being on a few labels promo lists, but I have to say for those starting out...get a Premium subscription...you'll be amazed at what is available via NetSearch.

An example:

I've had available to me, via NetSearch "Hot as Hell" (Nouveau Yorican Remix and Will Bailey Remixes) by "Drop The Lime" for at least a month before I received the "Club Mix" via Promo.

and if you are a mobile DJ, it's a true godsend.

yes allthough you need an live internet connection to ''download'' the song to VDJ while you play, i don't always have a wifi nearby...
