A buddy of mine wants to trade out his serato for Torq. I'm trying to figure out why. Is there something really outstandingly great about Torq? I told him about VDJ but he's stuck on this Torq thing.
Anyone have some insight into Torq and why anyone would want Torq over VDJ or serato?

It has a few good features - zplane elastique timestretch algorithm, MIDI output clock and tempo anchors to name a few.

I believe torq has more hot cue points and effects. Serato has 5 hot cue points & Midi

I have never used Torq, have never seen anyone use Torq, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that Torq sucks. Anyone ever used it or know someone who has?
I just can't figure why he would ditch serato for Torq.

I own Torq. I'm not it's biggest fan though. As I said it has a few good features, but I just don't like the UI or the browser system at all. If they improved them, I reckon it would have real potential.

If VDJ could have these that would be real hot.
Thanks for the insight guys. I just may go buy Torq tomorrow for $230 (I get discounts) and trade it for his Serato. I can use the sl1 box w/ VDJ.
Serato for $230...Hmmmmmmmm Me thinks not a bad deal.

Torq came with my connectiv a year or two ago and I didnt like the UI either which is why I started looking at all the other options, eventually deciding on VDJ. I should reinstall it and have a look sometime.
Anyways, wouldnt hesitate to score an SL1 for that price, just to have serato as well for clubs that use it.

I know dj city, lol! The pic is funny and I was just trying to lighten the mood here. That's a great deal on the Serato.

only the latest tracktor is as good as, if not better than, serato as far as hardcore beat juggling, scratching goes.
