First of all.. You are using the wrong equipment. Hercules is not for scratching. Its a Push button controller. That small jog is not designed for that purpose, thats why it doesnt sound good when you try to scratch. You need something like Pioneer CDJ 800, CDJ 1000, Vestax VCI 300, Numark NS7, Denon 3700, Technics Turntables.

true scratching can only be done with turntables really...
I have yet to see a controller on the market emulate a turntable correctly including CDJ's. Go where the root of it is if you really want to learn how to scratch.
