Topic: I can make my VDJ crash!!!

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I actually stopped using my Hercules RMX because of this... if I accidently load a song on on the active side (something currently playing) my VDJ will crash.. so after about 6 months of no repsonse, I let dust build up on teh unit..

Until a buddy of mind said to come to the site and check for updates.. so now I'm up to 5.2.0 according to this site, which was a wonderful surprise, but I still have the same issues. Its something I can reproduce!!!!!!! again, I can crash VDJ simply by selecting a song to a side that's already playing. A prompt will appear asking if I want to continue and interupt the song currently playing.. regardless if I answer yes or no, the program will crash.

any solutions for this?

Mac osx 10.4.9
vdj 5.2.0

Not trying to be sarcastic, but Mac + Vdj(5 and 6) runs so much better on Leopard than Tiger. And I'm pretty sure we all had that problem before, but it seems to have been fixed in VDJ6, along with many other ver5 flaws. And while not perfect(mainly due to Snow Leopard), it is still a lot better. Another thing you have to consider... is your machine capable of keeping up with the demands placed on the drive, cpu, and memory. There are a lot of things to look at. Also 5.2.2 is the latest for djc. You should look into getting Vdj Pro. It unlocks so many great functions, I am so glad I updated. The LE version that comes with the Hercules RMX, is just too limited, so I don't blame you for being frustrated, but you do have to update you hardware, and OS in order to get the benefits of the better software.

My God man, I thought I was the Only one! I get that same crash if I accidentally load a track to the same deck. It's so easy to do on accident and its fatal every time. I've had it happen at big parties and it sucks. There is no option for security on the mac that i've seen. From what i've seen so far, VDJ is more stable and expandable on the PC side. Until VDJ gets to the point where its as stable as Serato, I just can't see myself relying on it for big shows, even after I ditch the RMX. The RMX is a toy! I can't wait to get the Allen and Heath Zone D:X and serato 2.0!!! Way I see it, I can ditch vdj for shows but still use it at home for mixes.

hi
same problem on loading a track on active desk with vdj 6.0.4
... and it's not with rmx, just the dj control mp3 on macbookpro leopard 10.5.8, latest drivers...
note : when i was on leopard 10.5.6 or 10.5.7, no problem like this one... it comes with my latest mac upgrade !

i've solved the problem :i set security parameters on "always".. and it works... if i select "ask" --> vdj shut down! great!

hope my english is good because i'm a french speaking guy from Belgium!

invulnincible, your brilliant!

I just upgraded to the VDJ Pro and was suffering the same problem. Changing the security option to "always" under the configuration stopped the software from crashing.

Thank you for the advice!

The last version of RMX drivers for Mac OS should solve this issue.
