Hi all!
Does anyone know how correct the key-detection of "VirtualDJ" is compared to "Mixed in Key" Software?
I use the "Mixed in Key" software and really like it, but i want to know how good "VirtualDJ"s detection is.
can anyone please analyze some songs (especially progressive house style would be nice, because thats what i used to play) with both softwares and then post how much of them give the same results.
Thx for helping

I have noticed that VDJ seems to think that every song is in a minor key.
I just looked in the manual and even there, they say that "most songs are in minor keys".
What's that all about?! It's obviously not the case.

Already done this on my setup. Used MIK4 and put the results into the comment field. Then in the folder in VDJ enabled the "Comment" field alongside the "Key" field. They were mainly exactly the same, except, MIK sometimes gives two keys. This was on House Music.

thx for answers.
i have another question:
mixed in key gives you the results in camelot-notation
virtualdj gives the results in ?normal? notation (dont know how it is called :-)) is that true?
if so how can i "convert" the camelot to the normal notation?
thx so far

Most songs ARE NOT in a minor key, in fact I believe it is the reverse. Any of you who are guitar players should know this.

The camelot notation - equivelent in VDJ is "number" on your field options. Happy Mixing!

is it possible to scan the key of a song (in camelot notation) in VirtualDJ and then save the result in the id3 tag of the scaned mp3 files?
if so how should i do?

I too have the MIK, don't need it anymore because VDJ does a very good job with the Harmonic Key. Here is another question.
Does anyone use Platinum Notes, its from the same company and I'm thinkig of getting it. Some advice please.
Thanks

once again:
is it somehow possible to save the determined key (in camelot notation) of a song (scanned with VirtualDJ) in the id3 tag of the scaned mp3 files.
If one uses mixed-in-key i know one can choose to save it to the mp3-file. But if one just has VirtualDJ to determine the key is it possible to save the key to the file so the key (determined in VirtualDJ) shows up in other software (meaning its stored in the id3 tag)???
