Topic: sold serato, now looking at vdj vinyl control. HELP!

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

i am currently looking for a new dvs after selling my serato due o lack of use, which meant a very expensive paper weight i cant justify.

now im looking for a cheaper alternative, i have been looking at the torq connective but this system seems to be put up with rather than enjoyed by its users according to there forums.

i then came across reloop spin! with free upgrade to spin2. but finding information and users with feedback is difficult and the sound card doesnt look good enough imo.

so, i have stumbled across vdj but know nothing about it only that it looks good and is tried and tested, skinable too.

reading the home page i see that i an use serato vinyls to control this vdj software which is a good thing.

my questions:

1. can any external sound card be used with this software ie some kind of maudio unit

2. is the vinyl control tight like serato and traktor

3. does vdj have any reocuring issues not fixed by free updates

thanks, andyfoz

1) yes most any soundcard can be used with VirtualDJ.
If you plan to control with timecode, you need a decent soundcard with asio drivers and 2 stereo in/outs. Such as from Maudio and others.
Hercules DJ Trim is also a good choice, u46dj....

2) Vinyl control should be good as others yes, but results will vary at the latency your soundcard has, so even though VDJ supports any soundcard, dont try go too "cheap" on the soundcard.

3) Any bugs are addressed fast and given to all full version customers asap. There arent any showstopper bugs known right now.
And most likely next few versions might even add new features, since the current release feels stable and good.

But if any drastic bugs are discovered, they will be addressed fast

Hope that helps ;)

Correct... When you purchase it you'll enjoy all the features that truly worth more than the price the shop has it at.

VDJ works great with timecoded cds, but the vinyls are really poor comared to both Serato, Torq and Traktor.

I know this beacause I own all 4 systems and VDJ is 4 out of 4 on this issue.

In (almost) all other aspects VDJ is the winner.

vdj is dope.

vinyl performance will depend on the interface you get, i have a audio 4dj, works great.

you still got those ssl vinyls, cause that's what you'll want
