I had been running both VDJ 5.2 and VDJ 6.04 on my old laptop.
The wave forms looked fine my on 5.2 but jerky on version 6.04
I considered this to be a hardware related problem as I was already experiencing hard drive problems on that laptop anyway.
So, I bought a brand new laptop. A powerful system with a better video card, hard drive, memory, processor and everything else. The situation is worse on this laptop under both version of VDJ and I have no idea why.
When I saw jerky wave forms on my old laptop....the entire system would always crash. That issue I believe has nothing to do with VDJ and everything to do with my faulty hard drive.
But I cant explain why the same thing is happening on this new system?
Am I the only one with this problem?

windows XP and maximized skin?
If not, try apply overclock in performance tab, plus additionally add to the latency drop down value until waveform runs smooth

Hi dj-in-norway,
some german users reported the same problem in the forum with the jerky wave form with Version 6.03 & 6.04. All my Systems have the same Problem and the skin is not maximized. I've tryed to apply overclock and set the performance to lowest. I've changed the skins, but nothing help.
Here are the technical Infos of my Systems:
Controller:
Denon HC 4500 with Audiointerface Latency @ 10 MS
Laptop running VDJ 6.04:
Acer Aspire 7730
Windows 7 Professional x64
Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, 2x 2,53 GHz, FSB1066, 6MB Cache
4096 MB DDR-2-RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT DDR3 SDRAM
1x 320 GB Western Digital Scorpio Black, 7200 U/Min, 16 MB Cache (internal HD for System)
1x 500 GB Seagate Momentus, 7200 U/Min, 16 MB Cache (internal HD for MP3)
Backuplaptop running Cue 6.03:
Acer Aspire7530
Windows XP Professional 32 Bit
AMD Turion64 X2 RM 70 2,0 GHz Dualcore
4096 MB DDR-2-RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
1x 320 GB Western Digital Scorpio Black, 7200 U/Min, 16 MB Cache (internal HD for System)
1x 500 GB Seagate Momentus, 7200 U/Min, 16 MB Cache (internal HD for MP3)
Workstation running VDJ 6.03:
Windows 7 Professional x64
Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core @ 3,5 GHz
12 GB DDR-3-RAM
ATI Readon HD 4890 1024 MB RAM
128 GB Samsung MMCRE28G5MXP Solid State Disk (Only System and Programs)
3Ware 9650SE SATA Raid-Controller
4x Seagate ST31500341AS 1,5 TB RAID 10 (for Data & MP3)
So i think with this workstation it's not a performance Problem. I've never had the problem in a previous version.

Try to change tha latency time of your Denon HC 4500.

I've tried it, but it doesn't help. It's not a latency problem, i've set it to the largest latency and test it with several soundcards. Also Mac Users post the same problem in the german forum. Any other idea?

Strange. I have never had such a problem.
I think it's better to open a ticket to VDJ support:

I have this as well - maybe a Nvidia thing?
Is a jerky waveform a bad thing? Or symptom of something not right?
Thanks!

It's not a NVidea problem, i've it with a ATI card to, look at my post before, with the technical details of the systems. I hope dj-in-norway see this post and can tell us a solution of this problem.

I don't have and Nvidia card either and don't use a Denon controller.

ditto..
also getting the jerky waveworms.. (I'm now running 6.05 on my desktop , but (i think?) this issue was also in 6.04?
CPU usage is low though? nothing seems to be struggling..

I've opened a ticket on 29. December but still no answer from the DEV-Team. So I hope in the next Version the bug with the jerky wave form will be fixed.
